Will cooking lessen the effectiveness?

I think it will lessen the properties of the herbs. I sprinkle over my dogs food straight from the tub, they have kibble and raw tripe. The tripe is a bit wet in texture, so the herbs can be mixed in.

i have a springer spaniel and have been giving her 1 scoop each day over the past 5 weeks i have removed over 10 ticks am i doing something wrong

It does need 6 weeks to get into their systems, but it is also not completely fail safe with ticks as any treatment. I would use a spray repellent in addition for another couple of weeks and also if you are going walking in areas of long grass etc which may contain sheep or deer grazing.
