These are the best ones I have found. Others have a piece where you have to push the whole contraption against whatever you are taping to be able to expose the blade to cut the tape which is not ideal whatsoever when trying to rapidly tape boxes. I purposely sought out ones that did not have that feature and found these. They work great! Very happy with them. I have had no issues whatsoever…

This dispenser will do what it’s meant to do. Mainly dispense the tape and quickly cut it when sealing a box or package. It is functional and lightweight. But this is not something I would use for heavy duty packing since I don’t think it would hold up to a lot of wear and tear. But I purchased this to use around the house. Up until today I was using a red one that comes with the brand of tape I buy, and that red dispenser is a complete piece of crap. This one is a tremendous improvement over that one. The blade is sharp on this one and cut through the tape quickly. The type of tape that it came with as good adhesiveness, but when this one runs out, I’ll be buying the brand that I usually use which is very strong and very sticky. Overall, this is a good purchase.

I can't even begin to describe how much I hate wrangling packing tape or the indignity or getting ripped tape "hangnails" and having to unroll an entire length to correct those tears. I was so tired of it that I decided to try an actual tape dispenser gun and my land what a difference it makes. These dispensers are great, the flexible square plastic guide shield thing makes it so much easier to apply tape and press and cut with a single motion to prevent those horrible uneven tape tears. It also holds the tape well after being cut so you don't have to hunt for the seam like you do on a normal roll of tape which is especially annoying on transparent tape. The handles are nice, lightweight and ergonomic, no problems with applying tape or maneuvering the dispenser. The included tape is good quality too, no complaints there. Highly highly recommended.

We just finished a move and after taping a few boxes with a roll of tape and a scissors, I ordered this to speed up the process. It worked well for moving. The tape didn't always stay stuck on the cutting blade so it would flop down. You would then have to manually stick it to the box to get it started. It worked for what I needed it for. If I was using this in a shipping department on a daily basis, I would get a little frustrated with it. So, I would recommend for home use but not in a commercial setting. The tape included stuck well, and held up for a local move.

Pros: Comes with visual instructions and a cute handwritten card thanking you for your purchase. Pro tip, or maybe not so pro tip: I didn't realize it had a guard on it and couldn't figure out how it would cut the tape. See my pictures for where the guard is located. It removes simply, but but took me a few minutes. It might just be me or menopause. No judging! Cons: The tape that this comes with is not thick at all. You can tear it with your hands. It is also not a very sturdy dispenser. It makes jumpy movements. You have to pull the tape with your fingers to start it and oftentimes pull way more than you need because it jerks out unsteadly. I'm hoping that the more industrial-type tape I bought will make for a smoother transition, but I won't be buying any more of these.

UPDATE! I just gave another two stars, because after reading my 3/5 review, they offered a full refund to say they were sorry. That is some amazing Customer Service! The gun itself works great. The bad roll of tape was a fluke. Nothing a new roll won’t fix. I highly recommend this company and this tape gun! ———————- ORIGINAL REVIEW: The gun works fine but the roll of tape that came with it has a defect and the bar catches the bump on the inside every time. Very frustrating.
