Learn the history of the best deep dish pizza style
The new Detroit Style Pizza book by Karen Dybis provides an excellent overview of how Italian immigrants made deep dish a trend in Southeast Michigan. Going into all the personalities behind the pizza, she explains the origin of rivalries between different deep dish places in the region. Besides covering the history of many regional mainstays, she also showcases how detroit style spread nationally by telling the story of some non Midwest businesses.
