Microsoft L2 LifeCam HD-3000 for Business , Black

Very good product

As you would expect with a Microsoft product, very easy to install with Windows 10 - just plug into a free USB port and play! Good wide angle coverage at close quarters without undue distortion and autofocus works well. Colour balance at low light levels is OK with some limited adjustment of contrast and brightness available from within the software running with it (in my case the Camera app included with the Windows 10 OS). You can also select aspect ratio, frame rates, etc from within this software - there is no dedicated software or drivers supplied with the camera - Windows just automatically sets things up from within the OS when you plug the camera in for the first time. Overall a perfectly satisfactory little webcam, for the price, for hassle-free installation and operation.

This camera is well situated for its price and functionality. It is certainly a capable camera and produces a high quality image, noticeably better than others in its price range that I have used in recent years. My only issue is that I tend to use this camera in relatively dark rooms as I chat/record videos late in the evening. I am by no means saying that the image is terrible in lower light but it is grainier than I would like. Admittedly for the price I should not be complaining but given the current state of camera technology this unit is rather basic and lacking features that should be widely available in competitively priced packages by now. It's easy to set up, includes a microphone (although I have not used it as I have a high quality mic for this purpose) and produces a more than serviceable image in bright light. If you do use it in low light whilst recording or streaming I would consider splashing out a little more on something fit for purpose. If you just use it for chats then this is the webcam for you.

Bought this item from Amazon themselves like I do with many items only to find that the packaging Amazon put in was fine but opening that to find a loose item in an open bag, instructions in Chinese as well as other languages and no software CD. This proves it is an OEM item for sale in China rather than the UK, which isn't in their product description (deceipful) unless that was covered in the title 'for business'. If you're looking for a retail item then this isn't for you. The device doesn't sit very tighly on the monitor and maybe better if fashioned the flexible rubber holder to sit on the desk instead. On the other hand, the cam gives a crystal clear image and being from Microsoft is Skype/WLM compatible The drivers can be downloaded via the Microsoft Hardware or the Windows Updates site. Remember that comes with those face tracking ears and other things for children and when starting the cam their software pops up but you can install the software which installs the rubbish then uninstall it, which leaves just the drivers (my suggestion). Maybe Windows Updates allows just the drivers to be installed but I get my updates from a WSUS server which isn't set for the drivers, IE, and so on. In all, if you're going to buy a HD webcam buy a different one

Bought this for webcam chats and skype video calls, as the internal webcam in my laptop doesn't cope well with poor lighting conditions. This webcam however is brilliant at making the surroundings of the room look much brighter than they actually are in reality. So now I don't have to have a lamp shinning directly at my face which used to blind me. So for me this has been a great purchase. It was easy to set up on Windows 7, just plug it into the USB port and it automatically finds the drivers and also downloads the Lifecam software. The software allows you to do various things, but the best feature for me is the zoom function, as my Laptop webcam software didn't let me do this. Final notes - Don't waste time and money buying a cheap one for £6-7 from a popular auction site, I did that and it was poor quality and permanently zoomed in. So it is worth paying a bit more for something better in the long run, and I wish I had just done that rather than trying to save money.

This webcam is perfect for most purposes, easy to install and good, clear definition. You just plug it in and away it goes. I would have preferred a note or something inside the box saying be patient, it does take a minute or two to install and you will have to restart your computer after installation, but otherwise no complaints at all.

Plug and play. Need to go into settings in Teams (or other program using the camera) and select the webcam if your computer already has a built in camera. Sound is fine as is picture.

So far so good. Used it with some recent video calls via Skype on my Windows 10 PC. Both excellent video quality as well as a very good mic. All in all very good value for money for good quality webcam!
