Marvellous machine but why no charging light?
I won't recite technical details of this laptop as they can be found in many descriptions and reviews.Normally, I am a Win 11 user but there is something about the vibrancy of the 16.2" screen of the Macbook Pro M2 that lured me to buy this. Somehow, it looks more polished. It's a different way of working from Windows but it does not take long to adjust to clicking on the top left of a window rather than the right. This is a very fast computer. It boots up in seconds from just opening the lid and has really good Wi-Fi connectivity. It is a heavy laptop compared with the Mac Air and smaller screen Mac Pros, which you would expect. For me, it is not a laptop I'll be carrying around much. I do have an Air for that. I am fortunate enough to have a few laptops which I use for writing and web surfing. For ease of use and sheer power, I would say that the HP Pavilion 17" is very similar although the Pavilion has a touch screen as well. Overall, the Mac 16.2" is very impressive and the larger screen is worth the upgrade if you can afford it but there is a slight trade off in portability. What did surprise me was the surround sound quality of the speakers. They are really excellent. Apple have manged to make a 3d sound effect like surround sound that really works in films but particularly in certain Apple Music songs too.One thing that bugs me though, why is there no external charging light? You have to turn on the machine to see whether it is fully charged or not.

Best laptop I’ve ever owned!
Bought on Amazon monthly payments last week (pay in 5), best laptop I’ve ever owned. Period. The battery life lasted me from Sunday until late on Wednesday without needing a recharge! Then when it does need a recharge? It’s back to full again in about 1.5 hours! The laptop is able to handle whatever I throw at it and even in the current heatwave I’ve not heard the fans kick in once or witnessed any signs of thermal throttling. It’s a power horse and a very silent one! But then what do you expect for over £3000? The very best! And that’s what you get. It’s much faster, much quieter, and much more efficient than any windows machine I have ever owned. And the battery life? It’s absolutely phenomenal! I went with the 16 inch M2 Max variant with 1TB SSD and 32GB unified memory. If you wish to choose the slightly lower specced M2 Pro variant though you will most likely have a very similar experience to myself. The Max shines in more graphically intensive tasks (due to double the GPU cores) so if you’re looking to play games or work with heavy graphics get the M2 Max. For anything else don’t feel bad about saving yourself some cash, just get the M2 Pro. My old laptop barely managed 3-4 hours on juice and the fans used to kick in within minutes of booting up so you can appreciate this feels like a massive upgrade! Also, before I forget, the 16 inch MacBook Pro screen is like an OLED TV on a laptop, it’s super bright (when viewing HDR), the blacks are true black, and the colours pop. 6 speakers produce incredible sound, the best I’ve heard on a laptop! Highly recommend if you’re able to purchase on instalments like I did. I’m glad I caved and bought it last week because the option to pay by instalments has mysteriously vanished for me this week. Money very well spent. Probably won’t need to upgrade for a fair few years! Yes they’ll keep releasing new macs every year that are way overspecced for the current generation of laptops but that’s the Apple way! Future-proofed right off the bat. Realistically? This machine will still be fast in 2-3 years. Possibly more. 32GB unified memory with Apple is somewhat on par with a 64GB windows machine. Not to mention that even if, on the rare or even improbable event that you run out of memory, it will just use SWAP on the super fast SSD. And a 1TB SSD has a pretty long lifespan compared to the baseline 256gb Mac models. Just remember to pick the right spec for you because you can’t change your mind afterwards.

Simply the best laptop for portability and great performance too
Bought this primarily as I don’t game on laptop anymore and wanted Mac for music software, so decided to switch from windows to Mac for my core laptop. This thing is blazing fast, stable as all hell, best screens and keyboards in the business and just can’t be beat on battery life. Downside, price of course. I just ordered base SSD and can load my music plugins onto an external drive no issue. Picked up a cheap Plugable USB C hub also which is fantastic for standard usb devices.Extremely happy with this thing, it is the laptop to beat on the market if you don’t need gaming

Love my new MacBook Pro M2
Bought this to replace an ageing MacBook Pro from 2015. Absolutely love this new machine. Was pondering a MacBook Air but decided to go for a Pro to help with photo and video editing. And to play games.Really impressed so far. I love the large screen as well - means that when I'm away from my home office set up I still have good screen real estate to work with. And the quality of the screen is incredible.I also have to call out the speakers. They've moved away from the tinny sound to a much fuller sound. I tend to use Sonos speakers, but the new MacBook Pro's speakers are to far off that level of sound / quality.

Once you’ve had a Mac Pro - wow!
Once you’ve had one nothing else comes close. This is my second one. I had the first one for six years. My wife now has it for general word processing. There’s nothing wrong with it. I just wanted the speed of the new Apple chip for the complicated work I do. It leaves the fastest Intel chip for dead. And it’s so well made with a beautiful keyboard and a new larger track pad. If you want the best, only a new Mac Pro with the 16” screen will do.

Best computer I have ever owned!
I recently bought the MacBook Pro M2 Max 3GB unified memory version - and I have to say, this is the best computer I've ever owned! Even my recent PC stands no chance to this absolute powerhouse. The battery life is phenomenal, lasted me well over 48-72 hours and charges very quickly. The keyboard, immersive retina display and hyper responsive track pad massively elevates the entire experience. This is without doubt the best most powerful workstation laptop on the market. It can handle anything you throw at it - and with the 32GB unified memory I was able to open hundreds of tabs in Firefox and the laptop didn't slow down even a single bit.Overall to end this review, get this if you work mainly from your laptop all the time hours a day, and deal with very power-intensive applications or multiple tabs open at once. If you're a student, get a MacBook Air instead. My mind is still blown!
