Very quick delivery. The flute is lovely and lightweight. Not sure about the sound yet as I still haven't figured out how to play it properly but I'm sure it sounds great if you know what you're doing.

Do a bit of research before you buy a dizi as it will save you some trouble when you try to play it.First there is a membrane hole on the flute that needs to have a piece of "dimo" paper stuck on top of it.Without this paper membrane you won't be able to play a note. Most Dizi will come with this dimo paper it looks a little like tissue/tracing paper.You are told to glue it over the membrane hole. This dimo paper allows the dizi to have it's distinctive sound, without it you will not be able to make a sound.The paper membrane reminds me of the paper membrane on a kazoo.The thing you need to be aware of when applying the dimo is that it has to be taut! if it is not taut you will again not be able to make a sound easily.What I actually suggest at least initially is to skip the dimo paper and just use a piece of ordinary clear adhesive cellotape as it is easier to apply and will not tear easily. It will also make it easier to make a sound initially, although you won't get that distinctive dizi buzz.When you have attached the adhesive tape over the membrane hole make sure it is taut and pressing it flush to the edges.To make a sound place the blow hole directly on your mouth like you are kissing it then role the flute down your lower lip so that the blow hole it perpendicular to your mouth then try giving a blow. It should be like trying to make a sound when you blow across the top of a bottle.You might have to practice a bit to get a sound, slowly adjust the position of the flute until you get a noise.You are not trying to blow directly into the blow hole, you only want about half your breath to enter the blow hole at a slight angle.Also look for a dizi fingering chart as no instructions are provided with this flute.Once you are able to play and sustain all the notes you can then try to apply the dimo paper properly.This should hopefully save you a lot of frustration when learning to play

Can't make a tune out of it. Seller can't be bothered to send a completely functional item, I'm sure there will be a lot of returns.

Looks like on the pictures, takes some time to get used to (as in, manage to get a sound out of it) the only issue was that the package I received did not contain the traditional Chinese knot that I really wanted! The flute itself is great tho
