Basses MelWhat a story! I loved it. Like a modern day Bonnie and Clyde I could not put it down. It's so nice to read about a woman that can take care of herself and she still found love 💘

Melody and Liam are insane, but they're my type of insane, I love it!
Omg, I really wish I could explain how much I love this series. It's honestly ridiculous and that is a compliment. This is a series that started with Melody shooting Liam in the arm because it was "non lethal" and so I'm sure you can imagine it's not going to get more serious than that. When I first recommended Ruthless People to my best friend I described it as "absolutely bonkers but you'll love it anyway!"My review of Ruthless People still stands, I love Melody Nicci Giovanni Callahan, every time we are in in her POV I feel like Boss Ass Bitch should be playing. Melody is 100% insane, but in a way that makes me respect her in a way that characters restrained to pages/kindles don't need to be. When referring to how awesome Melody is, at least once she must be referred to by her full name as it only seems appropriate. Taking place around 8 years after the ending of the previous book and Melody and Liam continue to be Liam and Melody, which was delightful.Liam continues to be the one person perfect for Melody because they're both clearly as insane as each other. As always, I really loved the family and I love how each major player gets at least one POV chapter. This book was really good at showcasing the kids that are obviously being groomed to take over the family and this book was both great at laying the foundation for our imaginations should it stop here or giving us background for the characters should we get to know them better, and as adults, at a later date.Reviews from ARC readers really had me worried about the direction that this book would go and I'm really glad that this book both closes a chapter and opens the door for a new book (that doesn't 100% count as mixing metaphors right?)As, I've referenced continuing the series twice, JJ, if you're somehow reading this, I need to know if there's going to be a spin off!! Send me a message at @AishaReadsBooks ;)Would I say this book was absolutely necessary? ...NoWould I say that that fact lowered my enjoyment of it? No!I was perfectly happy with how American Savages ended but I also really loved being welcomed back into the crazy world of the Callahans, again, I think it's great backstory for the future spin off (I'm speaking it into existence now, okay) and it's better off being told as a straight narrative rather than the kids trying to piece it together. There were three moments that had me holding my breath in shock, awe and/or fear and I'm honestly so glad to have picked up this series. These books near flawlessly cover crime, humour, familial ties and more crime. The Godfather is one of my favourite books and movies and whilst not as serious a take on the mob world, these books remind me of the family ties and the tentative relationships formed in hopes of a slightly easier reign for their children, until it's realised that in order for your children to become leaders, they must firstly lead.Rating: 5 stars

Wow!!! I didn’t see that coming.
I’ll be honest and say, I couldn’t see much of a story to continue on for Liam and Melody BUT how wrong was I and how happy I am. Well I’m not because it feels like the end (without knowing yet what the voice of children will bring).I cried at the ending because I didn’t want them to end, didn’t want their love to end and maybe I wanted a little more of happier situation for them but knowing them, this would be the only closure they would get in their lives, with the hope the truth can come out somewhere for them all.Thank you JJ for your brilliant writing and to have something so refreshing as a woman as strong and as bad ass as she was and not just playing damsel in distress. That’s what drawn me into your books the most.. I love my Mafia but I felt this was so needed.Sign me up for some of this please!

Holy emotions!! What a journey!
OH MY ACTUAL GOODNESS.... JJ McAvoy absolutely smashed it in this last book for this series!!!My heart has gone crazy numerous times... ive been holding my breath on the edge of my seat... ive been shouting at anyone and everything that disturbs me from reading and now im just sat staring at my kindle knowing its over but not quite sure how to move on!!!All i can say is i LOVE the Callahan family... each and every one in their own way but Liam and Melody and their love just grabbed onto me and didnt let go!This book is told in POV of many characters that we have met throughout this series and i think that this just made it even more better than just having POV of Liam and Mel.Being involved with the Italian and Irish mafia is a blessing and a curse for these guys and it takes them on one hell of a journey!Would recommend these books to EVERYONE! LOVE LOVE LOVE!

The best book EVER
A Bloody Kingdom made me cry, made me laugh and made me wish for more books about The Callahans!! Melody and Liam are as badass as ever and this book surprised me so so much that even with me reading the epilogue before finishing the book I couldn't stop the tears. I can't wait for the kids books! I know they will be as good as Ruthless People Series

Good book!
This was a great read, I loved how the story showed the growth of the children but I wish this series ended with the last book. I loved this book, I just wanted more with the ending.

Is a proof reader that expensive?
I have given 2 stars because I am annoyed at the lack of proof reading here. Some examples I have highlighted within 5% of reading the book:''them finished each other's statements""he was couldn't wait to leave"Also, Cora and Declan's child is first referred to as a baby boy (with the name Darcy...?) - the baby is then referred to as their daughter (loc 773) before being called a baby boy again!! Which is it? How can a book be published like this? Absolutely infuriating.I'm currently on 60% and I am enjoying the storyline so far. I'm sure many readers will proof read this book for free? I would have given a better rating with the correct punctuation and no mistakes.
