Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Recovery Dog/Cat Food

My cat has been quite poorly, she wasn't eating her normal food at all and had lost a lot of weight. I found this food and it's the only thing she has eaten. The texture is similar to a paste, I've been mixing a small amount of warm water to it, to make more liquidy, as she is quite old, and she eats it. It has a fairly strong smell to it but what wet food doesn't. It is quite expensive but if it's the only thing she'll eat, I don't mind spending the money. It's a great food for weight gain, that's easy for them to digest. She's still eating small amounts, so I empty the tin into tupperware and store it in the fridge and it lasts well.

Very good product . This was given to my cat by the vet alongside his treatment when he nearly died with illness , this product brought his appetite back and he recovered . Lately he's had poor appetite with his illness so I bought some myself and he cleared the plate immediately and seems happier . It feels like a complan fir cats and helps them bounce back . Very palatable to them and easy to eat fir a teething kitty too. I believe it isn't meant for long term use but when weaning off can mix with ordinary food . I think all cat parents would benefit from having a few tins of this in the cupboard .

My dog has mega oesophagus, so I have to make a slurry out of the meat she normally has ( Rotal Canin mini adult) but this is so much better. It’s a great consistency making it easy for her to swallow but packed with nutrients which means even though she can’t eat much, she has started to maintain her weight instead of losing it as she was previously.

Very good for young kitten

Bought for my very old cat after the vet recommended it, as she was getting very thin and wasn’t eating well. It’s made a huge difference to her wellbeing, she’s eating more and is putting on weight, her fur is glossy again and she looks 10 years younger 😊!

Very expensive but worth it if you can buy it. This replaced RC's powered formula with which I had many years experience. Just as good and this time helped me nurse a 30year old blind and deaf cat through feline Calicivirus Infection. From syringe feeding back to a healthy weight and onto normal food. Five months post virus and fingers crossed she's still going ❤️ I have yet to see either a dog or cat refuse to eat it. An excellent product.

This recovery food was recommended by our vets after one of our cats lost a large amount of weight after a liver infection. She would barely eat and it was looking like a one way trip to the vets was round the corner. The vets couldn't get hold of any quickly (we're on the Outer Hebrides) but luckily Amazon had it, so we ordered a 12 tin pack (each tin is 195g). The food is in the form of a light pate, soft and easily digested. As our cat was so poorly and not remotely interested in eating, we ended up syringing it into her for a couple of weeks until she regained some level of appetite. Although it was stressful for her (and us..!), it ultimately got her eating again and she eventually put on weight and recovered. To make up each syringe and make it easiest for her to swallow, we found it best to mix it with a small amount of warm water. Later, as she improved we treated her to the odd LickyLix mixed with the Royal Canin, which still syringed well. The Pros A life saver. This brought her back from the brink when there was absolutely nothing else that we could easily feed her with. Easy to use and can be syringed directly from the tin, although we found it worked best with a small amount of warm water mixed in. The Cons It's pretty expensive..... but what price can you put on your pets recovery when all else fails..? It smells unappetising. A kind of meaty/cereal scent. Not strong, just bland. Neither our poorly one nor our other two cats would willingly eat it, even mixed with other stronger foods or treats.

Le produit à été déposé à travers les barreaux de mon portail au sol et non pas dans la boîte aux lettres comme précisé par le livreur... Mon chien un spitz nain a été mordu sur la face par un cocker sans laisse lors d'une balade. Il a perdu beaucoup de sang et a des difficultés à se nourrir malgré un passage aux urgences puis à notre vétérinaire. Il apprécie cette mousse qui l'aide à se nourrir par sa texture lisse il ne mangeait plus depuis 2 jours. Elle est réputée comme étant très nutritive pour l'aider dans sa convalescence. Je suis très contente de cet achat d'un lot de 12 boîtes Recovery Royal Canin qui plaît à mon chien et qui va contribuer à sa guérison. Merci beaucoup !
