That is why I bought the model with 2 batteries. **Q: What is the difference vbetween the old and new version?** A: I don't know what the difference is but after very little use mine just quit working and I have had no success getting the company to help. I got mine in May of this year and didn't use it until July and then for very little. **Q: Hello! Do you have to keep the safety button pressed during use?** A: The two buttons on the chain saw are pressed at the same time to start the chain saw. **Q: I used it for 10 minutes and I like it, but why does the chain always have a loose feeling?** A: I think that's just a 'thing' with chain saws. Have used it many times this Summer and very pleased with how it works, ease of cleaning, oiling chain, safety shield, value, design, etc. It's a sturdy mini chainsaw and the 6 inch size is the best size. Don't buy one smaller than that because the small one would just be TOO small to be of use. I cut branches on a Jane Magnolia and my Lilacs this summer with no problem. Keep it clean and remember to oil prior to each use. The charger charges quick, so don't walk away and leave that lithium battery charging and go off for an hour.
