5 Star Chair Mat Floor Protection PVC W900xD1200mm Clear/Transparent

This is a very useful carpet protector, which I bought to replace one that had lasted about 3 years. This one is slightly larger and thicker than the previous one and feels more robust.It was easy to fit, enables my office chair to move easily and of course it protects my carpet!

I needed this for my desk as I have a wooden floor in my living room. It's larger than I expected but the size is just about perfect giving me enough room to move my chair around. The only thing I would say to its discredit is it is prone to move around on a wooden floor if it is not secured in place (perhaps by your desk some how).I've seen reviews where the mat hasn't lasted long before the plastic starts to crack; I will certainly update this review if that is the case. I am assuming (and hoping) that it has been updated since the reviews from 2008 that highlighted the problem.

Second one started to crack pretty quickly advised I was buying same product but its clearly not, newer one has anti slip pimples on the rear. Whatever a little disappointed this one has cracked so fast.

I've had this item a month. I previously bought a mat that cost twice the price of this unit and it cracked after a week of use!So as mats go this one is clearly a lot better than most.Unlike my previous mat it isn't yellow-ish but perfectly clear.It doesn't move across my carpet because I have the correct type of carpet for the spikes to gain a grip. If you have a deep carpet it will move around and likely crack where the mat deforms under the chair wheels.With a hard carpet it won't slide and there is no deformation under the wheels that would cause fatigue and cracks.If I can get a couple of months out of it I consider that worth it. I'd happily buy one every two months given how well it protects my carpet, how cheap it is and how well my chair rolls on it.No doubt I will get far more than two months out of it so I am happy.

OK so I should have realised it isnt big enough as they did give me the sizes in the product description but until you use one you dont realise just how much you move the chair about when turning to get up from the desk or turning around to take something off of the printer on the table behind you. So first piece of advice is try to find a slightly wider one and certainly one at least 500mm longer.But even then this one is just a bit too thin. I weigh less than 12st and my chair has 5 rollers but still the chair 'sticks' when you try to move if you have been in one position for more than a few minutes. This is because the plastic mat deforms around the wheels letting them sink into the carpet.So it does the basic job of protecting the carpet but its too easy to roll off of the mat because it is too small and the material is too thin or not strong enough to make movement on the mat easy.

I purchased this item because the photograph of the item looked the same as the chair protection mat I already own. The item I received is not the same as the item shown in the photograph, the material doesn't contain the pattern of dots shown in the photograph. The material is very thin and flimsy and can be rolled up like carpet, the mat I already own is thick, stiff and rigid and cannot be rolled up in the same way. Unlike carpet the material is very difficult to lay flat since it maintains its curly state. The mat is too flimsy and is not fit for purpose, save your money and pay a little extra for a better quality mat.

Great mat for my home office - it protects the carpet from the wheels on my chair and allows the chair to move freely.

I ordered two mats for our newly carpeted office - one for each desk. The mats are very clear - allowing the colour of the carpet to show through. This clarity makes the mats discreet and you really don't notice them as you walk into the room. The mats grip the carpet well and do not slide around. Office chairs roll nicely across the mat's surface and, although it is early days, I see no sign that cracks will soon be appearing. At this price, even if they must be replaced every few years, the mats represent good value and certainly will protect our carpet and extend its life. I am withholding one star right now, as I cannot vouch for their long-standing durability. But I am certainly satisfied with them at the moment.

Tapis de bonne dimension, d'adapte parfaitement sous un bureau, les roues glissent bien sur le revêtement pastique. Dommage qu'il ne soit pas adaptable pour les parquets !
