JanlynnOcean's Edge Candlewicking Embroidery Kit, Pack of 1

My wife ordered this - here is her review: I'm very pleased with this kit. It was very relaxing to do as it only uses basic embroidery stitches. There was plenty of thread to complete the project. I had some beads and blue embroidery thread in my stash so I added these to the design to give a pop of colour. I turned the finished kit into a cushion by blanket stitching it onto an existing cover. Not as good as making a proper cushion out of it, but it'll be a nice addition to our caravan.

Was very happy with the design, which I think is exceptionally nice. Kit contained everything as promised, and unlike other reviewers I think the natural tone of the muslin backing suits the product. Two gripes - one, the coating of the needle supplied has already flaked, and two, the instructions are unclear about "strands" and "ply" with regards to candlewicking thread. On one side of the instructions we are told never to separate the two-ply strand, but on the other to use one ply of thread. Very confusing! I used my own judgement (which I suppose is part of the fun), and ignored the 4-ply instruction for the colonial knots, using two strands instead. Design also contain a couple of discrepancies. For example, one of the lines in the middle of the design was printed solid, but showed slip stitch in the illustration. I'm a pedant, I know!

A beautiful piece of work, especially when quilted and framed. I have done three of these, one of which was ‘mushrooms’. I wish this one could be brought back. They are so different and admired by everyone.

I was disappointed with this product. I may be able to achieve the same result as shown in the photograph if I buy a piece of white fabric for the top layer. It certainly wasn't worth the money I paid for it.

I was disappointed when this arrived. In the picture it looks white but is more like a fawn colour. Was okay though

I made this piece many years ago and I gave it to a friend. Now I have one that I will enjoy sewing all for myself. Candlewicking is such a pleasure.

Found someone’s review stating this after I had clicked buy......but will use the design to make a white version . Bit pricey for what the contents are, but....it’s a lovely design and someone has to be paid for creating that.

Picture shows white fabric. It's not. It's light yellow.
