I purchased these adaptors for a recent trip to Cape Town. They were an essential travel accessory as the hotel rooms we stayed in on the Garden Route had a maximum of 1 international plug socket. With 2 smartphones, 1 iPad and 1 digital SLR, we needed plenty of power sockets. These did the business perfectly, allowing us to wake up with all of our essential electronic devices fully recharged. These are well made and really good value for money.

Ok so these adapters allow you to use up 3 pin plugs in South African style 3 pin sockets. If you haven't been to South Africa before, be advised many hotels and houses have dual type sockets that use these 3 plugs but also have German style two pin. So you may save yourself a few quid by checking before you travel if you already have continental adaptors.That said I always travel with a couple of both adaptors just to be on the safe side! And as far as 3 pin SA adaptors go these are perfectly fine. If anything they are slightly slimmer and lighter than most others I have used. They work fine with UK extensions plugged into them with no noticeable heating of the plug. I would buy again if needed.As an aside in case you were wondering SA uses the same 230/240 system we use in the UK unlike the US so no need for expensive and bulky transformers .

Have not yet used the adapters which I am sure work fine...they just adapters...the customer service thought compelled me to write a review. Very impressed by the service received buying something as simple as a travel adapter. Received an email wishing us well on trip and things to see and do at our destination. Thought it was a nice touch.

These were neat and small - unfortunately I had to buy an adaptor in South Africa because this one would not take the uk plug for my phone. It would take some uk plugs but by no means all. It was very inconvenient.

Fantastic used on our 5 week holiday to South Africa and they were brilliant. Light weight and exactly what I needed. Speedy delivery too !

Buy these before you leave. Great quality and strange because the plugs in SA are bigger than the usual round pin plugs.
