Today I finally had the opportunity to test this cable and to my surprise the red is ground and the black is red. Which is backwards. This may only be applicable to generac? Luckily it didn't cook the device I tried plugging in. Just be sure to check it with a multimeter before hooking it up to anything. Other than that the cable is high quality and works great
