High quality at a really good price
After breaking a critical bolt off in my engine block, and trying unsuccessfully for days to extract it, I bought this kit with some tap magic oil and drilled a new hole. It worked like a charm, and after tracking down the right bolt at home depot I was able to finish the repairs.PROS:Very high quality bits at a much cheaper price than you can find at most hardware stores. (home depot sells similar single tap bits for almost 10$ A PIECE) They worked great for re-threading my aluminum engine block. The threads are strong, and the tap caught the sides and went in very smoothly after using a bit of tap-oil.CONS:-Some of the taps are odd sizes and pitches, which correspond to specialty bolts that were not easily available at my local hardware stores. It took some shopping and searching to find exactly the right size and pitch for the tap I selected.-The pitch (thread count) of the taps is varied, instead of being consistent across the kit. Make sure to pay attention to this before you tap, and when shopping for a replacement bolt/fastener.-There are no instructions in the box at all. This was my first time working with a tap kit, so I had to find tutorials elsewhere. Luckily there are lots of helpful ones on youtube.

Great taps and dies for the money.
The taps and dies themselves are holding up well for me, and seem to be of comparable quality to much more expensive ones. The holders, however, are a bit lacking. I already had some nice holders so that wasn't an issue for me, but if you use them every day you might want to get better holders. I'm sure they would be fine for occasional use though.Aside from the weak holders, the only other negative I can find is that my set arrived with a cracked case. This is a non-issue for me as it stays in my toolbox and never leaves the assigned drawer, but it would be a hassle if I wanted to carry the case around.Again, the taps and dies are a great value for the money, and totally make up for those two minor faults.

Impressed, good value
After breaking off some rusty bolt heads on my truck body, I needed to drill out and rethread the holes. I was a little worried that a budget set wouldn't do well with the high grade steel of some of these bolts (and the frame itself), but so far so good! Quality of taps and dies seem high quality, gauge ID engravings are easy to read. The handles don't scream "premium" but I've had no problems, and I won't be using this set day-in and day-out, so I'm perfectly happy with them. I should mention that the T-handle, which is very useful when working in tight spaces, can only handle the smaller tap bits, so I'll probably have to buy a bigger one at some point. The molded case is basic, but seems to hold everything in place when carried. The lettering embossed next to each piece is a hard to read in spots.I'm a hobby mechanic, basically maintaining an old truck in a borrowed garage when I need to. This set was a good purchase, I expect it will perform for pretty much any situation I'll need it for.

Excellent Toolset for the masses.
After using a couple dies, to rethread, found the quality of the tools great, and it’s seems a totally complete set. The case is well made and organized. Only question I have is for the die handle, as to the purpose of the rotating part. Tried to figure out its advantages, but not useful for my current project. Huh, what is it? No instructions or guide with set. The foam pad in the case prevents pieces from falling out of place. I double-face taped that to the cover to keep it in place, prevent the foam from damage. Would have been nice if already attached. Otherwise, for the competitive price, and the completeness of the set. Give it 5 stars.

Some parts are not well made but probably adequate for my purposes
I will be using the taps and dies primarily for cleaning up damaged threads and I think the set will be adequate for that but I am not confident that it would work well for cutting new threads in metal. The taps and dies appear to be well made and finished but the two tap wrenches are not well made. The collet of the t-handle wrench has jaws that do not align properly and the clamps of the bar wrench do not align properly, also the threads of the adjustable clamp are too coarse to permit secure, tight clamping of the square end of the tap. The fixed clamp of the bar wrench was loose but I hope that a little lok-tite on its threaded handle will fix that. I think the set will work for my purposes, at least for a while, but I doubt that the tap wrenches would support the force required to cut new thread in metal pieces.I also find the product description somewhat misleading. Although the description describes the set as "comprehensive" including "coarse and fine" sizes it is clear from the listed components that the description is inaccurate. It has the coarse sizes I need but anybody needing fine threads for metric sizes will be disappointed.

These tools work very well for my use .
First I was please to see that the it was made of a good grade of metal, I’ve only tapped the with 3 times but worked quite well, it’s turned out to be a great value for the money. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is when I opened the case several of the tools had scattered all over ( did not stay in their pockets ) which I was able to fix by cutting out a piece of cardboard from the box in came in and laying it over tools pry to closing the lid. 👍🏻

Amazing for such a low price! Like what!
Bought it for my boyfriend for Christmas. I was very scared buying it because I know nothing about tools so I consulted my dad (who is a mechanic) and he read through everything and said he was really impressed with the information provided. He said it should be really good quality, and it was amazing for the price. The reason I went with this is because I knew my boyfriend would get angry with me if I spent so much money on him (tap and die sets are usually around $200-$300)! However, he opened it up on Christmas morning, mad as hell, going through it, admiring everything, chastising me for spending so much money (because it is such good quality!!!) but then I told him how inexpensive it was! He was a HAPPY BOYYY. Like a kid in a candy shop, examining all the tools. He spent the rest of Christmas out in his shop, haha
