Everyone needs one
Japanese pull saws are indispensable. Whether you're a pro or a homeowner there is so many practical uses for having one around. Personally as a builder I find myself using my pull saws a ton. I always have them in my truck. For a homeowner who wants to be at least a little capable, this is an inexpensive saw , light weight, relatively safe and very effective. Plus they look real cool. This one in particular is of really nice quality, has the Japanese steel blade, ridiculously sharp and fast-cutting and it has a really nice plastic cover for the blade which my others didn't come with. One side has ripping (lengthwise) teeth and the opposite side has cross cutting teeth. Excellent for use when finishing off stair stringers, making notch cuts, having a small amount of cutting and you dont want to grab a circular saw, even cutting miters on trim if your hand is steady enough.

Kakuri ryoba
Good for resawing and crosscutting the hardwoods I use here in Perú. I like the replaceable blade; I can resharpen the ripping teeth easily but have little skill in resharpening the crosscutting teeth. The saw is lightweight, and tracks well during resawing.

Sharp.
Sharp and something I’ve wanted to add to my toolbox. I’m doing some repair and remodeling on my house, cutting moulding, making door jambs etc. It will help with some cuts, I know I have to make.
