Heavy Duty Air Scrubber for Cleaner Workspace Air
The CADPXS 550 Air Scrubber has a simple and heavy duty design that works as intended. Just like you would expect from an air scrubber, it helps keep your work space air clean. Iโll share the pros and cons from my perspective, and hopefully those will help you make an informed purchasing decisions. Sorry for the bad audio in the unboxing video, I need to get a better microphone. Pros: ============== Simple & Minimal Packaging: * The first things that caught my attention was the simple and effective packaging. The CADPXS 550 arrives in thick cardboard with just two small foam pieces. Tool-Free Filter Access: * Practically this is an important feature. This makes it easy to clean the pre-filter, or swap out filters. Just flip the two quick latches and lift the lid. Personally I like this design because my other air scrubber needs 4 screws loosened with a screwdriver to access the filter. Robust Design and Quality Materials: * The quality of the plastic seems very durable. I expect it to have a long lifetime and take on daily work abuse without issue. The weight of the unit is nice, its a slightly lighter and smaller than my other 550 air scrubber so that makes it slightly easier to move it around. Lighted Power Cord: * The power cord has a light feature enhances visibility, making it easier to locate the power source in dimly lit spaces. It's a small detail that goes a long way in terms of user convenience. Persistent Display Hour Meter: * The hour usage meter meter displays the hours even with the power unplugged. This is a nice touch. Maybe itโs an e-ink display. Well Placed Control Panel: * In relation to the exhaust, the control panel is located on the side. This is great because if youโre pointing the exhaust up in the air, the control panel is still easily accessible. My other air scrubber has the control panel on the opposite side of the exhaust which means itโs on the floor when pointing up and not accessible. Great job on the placement of this. Price: * The price seems of this seems to be in the mid-range for 550 CFM Air Scrubbers on Amazon. I have not used any BlueDri products, but this CADPXS air scrubber design seems comparable to the industry standard BlueDri 500. Cons: ============== CFM Output Feels SLIGHTLY Less Than My Other Air Scrubber: * I have another 550 CFM air scrubber I regularly use. The output of my other one feels stronger than this CADPXS one. Maybe I will get an anemometer (airflow meter) so I can test the output/input of my air scrubbers. The air inlet hole is is a little smaller on the CADPXS compared to my other air scrubber, maybe that has an effect on output. Rigid Carrying Handle as Opposed to Strap: * The carrying handle is rigid, which makes it very sturdy and great to grip. But I prefer the flexibility of fold-flat strap handles. This rigid handle might be issue for storing/stacking, and if the handle ever breaks it wonโt be possible to replace like a strap handle can. Filter - Carbon & HEPA Not Separate: * I think this is common for Air Scrubbers to have the Carbon & HEPA filters attached to each other. Would probably be nice is you could easily replace them independently from each other. No UV Light: * If you need a UV light, this does not have one. Most of my use situations do not require one, but it might be nice for the occasional use. The CADPXS 550 Air Scrubber does its duty helping clean my work space air. Itโs always great to have an air scrubber running in work environments to reduce risk of breathing particles or making more of a mess than needed. I will be using this air scrubber regularly for construction projects like demolition, remodeling, drywalling, cleanup etc. I am looking forward to cleaning my pre-filter more regularly because of the quick tool free latch design.

Works Exactly as Needed โ Reliable, Powerful, and Now Part of My Regular Setup
I am thrilled to share my experience with the CADPXS Shield-550, which I acquired for a pest-control restoration project that required dependable negative air and consistent filtration. As a contractor, I value equipment that not only sounds good on paper but truly delivers in real-world conditions. This unit exceeded my expectations on the job site! **Performance:** The 550 CFM airflow rating is impressive and remains consistent even under load. With all three filters in place, it ensured excellent airflow and solid negative pressure in the containment area. There were no drop-offs, no struggling motor, and absolutely no fluctuations in airflow. It operates exactly as a restoration-grade scrubber should! **Filtration:** The 3-stage filtration system is outstanding. The pre-filter captures a significant amount of debris; the carbon filter effectively reduces odors; and the HEPA filter operates seamlessly without any bypass leaks. During the pest control cleanup, the carbon stage made a remarkable difference in odor control, creating a much more pleasant workspace. **Durability & Duty Cycle:** I have used this machine for extended periods without any overheating or excessive vibration. Its robust housing is perfectly suited for the demands of real-world applications, from loading and unloading to stacking and moving between jobs. The controls are user-friendly and feel impressively durable. **Maintenance:** Changing filters is a breezeโquick and hassle-free! The panel seals securely once reinstalled, eliminating issues with warped plastic or loose latches. This scrubber has consistently met all my needs during pest control restoration, and I continue to incorporate it into my routine. For anyone engaged in restoration, remediation, or general contracting who requires reliable negative air and filtration, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Shield-550. This exceptional piece of equipment truly earns its place on the job site!

High Quality Air Scrubber
We bought this for a mold remediation work. It's high quality, everything on it is built to last. We used it to create a negative air containment, which worked great. It moves a lot of air and the HEPA filter provided the peace of mind needed to tackle the project. It's made from durable and sturdy plastic, the fan speed knob is high quality metal. It's easy to disassemble, clean and replacement filters are reasonably priced. The additional outlet next to the fan speed is a nice touch and would come in handy. Post project and cleaning, we continue to use it as an air cleaner occasionally in our home. It is a bit loud for constant use while in close proximity. Highly recommended for renovation and remediation projects.

Great product!
Works as advertised. Have already logged over 4,000 hours within a couple of weeks. I love that you can control the air flow. The machine itself is not too bulky and easy to move. Filtration is excellent! The odor in this bathroom due to the mold that was mitigated was very strong. This machine removed the odor within minutes making for a safer work environment. I have read that there are issues with the machine being too loud. I had the machine running 24 hours a day with the tenants living in the home. They never complained about the sound while it was left on high. It's a great air scrubber for the price and I see myself purchasing more in the future.

Filters the air great. Especially drywall dust.
This machine is serious air filtering machine. Fairly quiet and works amazing.

Works awesome
Works awesome. I took the control panel apart and extended all the wires so I could mount it in the attic and have the controls down in my shop. With some cheap tubing to get the suction where you want it, and the clean air where you need it, it was super easy. I was surprised by how much stuff it sucked up that I was just breathing in before!

Works, but has its flaws
I bought this because it's the same unit a mold remediation company used in my home. First, the flaws: - It's noisy - even with the speed control knob set to minimum. And from max to min, the knob does not vary the speed by much. - I found that the run time meter is actually the "plugged-in time" meter. So it's not telling you how long the filters have been running, but only how long it's been plugged in. I don't want to have to unplug it every time I stop it (while sleeping, for example) so this doesn't help me judge how long the filters have been in service. Which leads me to: - After being plugged in for 92 hours (or less, not sure when it came on) the "change filter" light came on. It was operating in a fairly clean environment, a rental travel trailer, so I'm 99.9% sure the filter doesn't need to be cleaned. I contacted their product support via email about this and they said "The HEPA/Carbon should be up to 6-8 months before replacing. Given that the light appears to be on, it can be an issue with the main board, but it's not an issue where you need to stop the functions on the unit. You may run the unit for the time recommended (6-8 months) for the filters to be changed as running the unit will not be affected or cause any damage." So I guess I have to judge when to replace the filter by...what? 6-8 months of ownership? Yeah, right. - Availability of hepa filter replacements is questionable. Amazon says they don't know if or when they'll be available, and the manufacturer website says to call them to order, even though you can order the scrubber itself online. I have not tried to call. Hopefully my project using the scrubber will be complete before the hepa filter needs changing - if I can tell. Now the good: - I have a PM2.5 meter in the trailer, and when running this in the trailer, after starting out with PM2.5 at ANY high level, from 5 or 6, up to 15 (had windows open while cutting the grass), it takes the PM 2.5 reading down to 1 or 0 in practically no time. Granted, the 28' trailer is a small space, but still, that does show the is scrubber is working. - Manufacturer's response to my concern about the run time meter was prompt. 3 stars - probably being generous.

Helpful During Home Renovation
This has been essential to have during home renovations in a 100 year-old house. So much dust! This works well to clear the air and control the dust. The indicator to replace the HEPA filter turned on after the first use, and no matter what I do, it continues to indicate I need to replace the filter, so I just replace on my own schedule now. Replacing filters is easy. It's not quiet, especially on the most aggressive setting, but I wasn't expecting it to be - it's a pretty hefty machine. All in all, good value for the price, and despite some quirks, very useful.
