Learn Go: Possibly the most played board game in the World

Clear, well set out book for Go beginners
This is a great book for learning Go. As a beginner I appreciate the 'One move at a time' diagrams' and the introduction. Demonstrating the concepts and rules of Go through game play (one move at a time) was helpful for a beginner (I hate squinting at large diagrams and following multiple moves as a beginner). The book also has resources listed including computer programs for playing go, and the book's own website. The book progresses through basic 9x9 board games to the full size board, and details common beginner mistakes. Some competent player Go problems are then presented so you can test your understanding. The text and diagrams are clear and well written and the book is a very good price.

An excellent first book.
I bought this book to give a different view from Kaoru Iwamoto's "Go For Beginners" - and it has been a very helpful addition to my first steps in learning this game.Unlike other books, this one provides each new move in a new image rather than number the stones in the order they were played on one image. This is helpful as it shows sequence rather than the finished state: I still need to build up the game using my board and stones: I find it difficult to just read, and the separate imges help to follow play.Use this book - and others - to help the learning process, but do not expect to play well by working alone. You need real opponents too!

It'll do, and the price is about right too.
I've read it now, dunno whether I learned anything (I already play go at single digit kyu level), but I didn't spot any serious errors. There are definitely some typos still present, but they are few and far between, on the whole it's a good book, I shall be giving copies next Xmas.
