Ordered a new face plate for the Switch's dock and I liked it a lot. The company has a ton of styles to choose from. This kit was a little more intricate than the dock faceplate. But they provide an easy to follow tutorial. It looks like it came from the factory with these new plates. I got the NES version and it comes with an old school D-pad style on the left controller which is a nice touch. It took me a few hours to do the whole change, mostly because my 3 y/o wanted to "help". The kit comes with a ton of extra screws and springs, and a little jeweler's screwdriver with the necessary bits. You may need a little plastic pry bar in some spots and some tweezers wouldn't hurt either. I bought another kit with aluminum latches that luckily had that stuff in it. If you have shaky hands, the switchover may be difficult. But otherwise, an awesome kit. Coupled with the dock faceplate, it all looks really good.

If you are good with tinkering and electronics ExtremeRate provides you a means to truly create a one of one masterpiece to your liking. Instructions are thorough, materials are top quality and they fit perfectly with the internal OEM Nintendo parts. I have used this brand for years and was able to completely rebuild my old best up switch with them from front to back even the screen!. It takes a while and a bit of patience but the end result is most definitely worth it! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

The media could not be loaded. So I had the Extreme rate Front Plate in white and decided to get the matching backplate. Upon finishing, I noticed that the back plate doesn’t snap into place perfectly flushed, like my old extreme rate Emerald Green faceplate and backplate (which also had issues with cracking). As shown in the video the backplate is loose and there are gaps in some parts like where the fan vent is. Overall a great idea but really disappointed in another set of low quality shells.

It just reminds me of the 90s! It really brings back a piece of my childhood and pairs perfect with the pro controller cover. Everything fit perfect, the dpad alone is amazing. Just take your time and get a good pair of tweezers.

2nd soft touch sell from eXtreme Rate. First one was back in 2020 not long after they started making shells for the switch. Quality wasn't bad then and was the best at the time. I can wholeheartedly say they have out done themselves. This shell looks amazing and is solid all around. Its painted, but pretty durable. Not sure how well it will hold up to skin oils for people that heavily play on the switch, but for me it will pretty much look new for the rest of its days. Totally recommend the d-pad joy-con shell.
