Lorus Men's Analogue Quartz Watch with Fabric and Canvas Strap – RXF41AX7

I bought my first version of this watch 1997 AND IT WAS STILL GOING THIS YEAR. A tremendous performance for such an inexpensive watch. The only reason it failed is because a watch repairer tried to dry the inside with a hairdryer and melted the face. (It was damp - my fault - I showered not realising the crown was "out"). In 18 years it never lost time and functioned perfectly - who can say that about any watch. I was heartbroken when the watch repairer broke it and was pleased to find it still on sale after all this time. It is feather-light and comfortable and the face is easy to read (unlike some newer styles). I would recommend this to anyone.

I like this watch A LOT! I have normally made do with 10-20 pound cheap watches for work and cycling etc and binned them rather than replace straps and batteries which I always felt a bit ethically morose about-but for barely a tenner more this one looks like a keeper on every level. It is beautifully made, seems to be keeping accurate time (so far!) and has the slight cache of Seiko behind it. It is just the right size for my skinny wrists (I can't carry off one of those chunky 4cm = monsters that every body seems to want these days. It is mindbogglingly clear without losing a degree of finesse. And the 'lumbrite dial is just extraordinary! The supplied strap is fine. Basically a 'Zulu' style. Straps are a personal preference so it's not worth getting into a state about it if it is not to your liking. I currently have it on a black and grey 'Nato' strap which is broadly similar but suits it even better. They only cost a couple of quid or three. It would look just as good with others and it happily crosses over the boundries of sports/formal wear. All in all - a good buy and I am very enamored.

A very reasonably priced watch with a large clear face design which is easy to read . Time keeping has been spot on so far. The glow in the dark feature is a worthwhile extra, lighting the whole face so that the black hands show up easily, better in my experience than having luminous hands and numerals or bars. The only niggle, as others haves said is the quality of the strap, I found it rather itchy and having purchased a NATO type nylon strap on Amazon for about £8 I found that much more comfortable and it seems more robust. Having very small wrists this is about as large as I can go in a modern watch but it looks fine. It is easy to change straps as well to colour coordinate should you wish.

I paid £40 on Amazon. I think it might be cheaper at Argos but you have to collect which means time, petrol, parking. Nice watch. Clear to read and bright in the dark. Date and day (which is in English and French - set it to English and it automatically stays in English). Loses a star for a not so great strap.

This is my third one over the past the previous 15 years. So reliable and very hard wearing. Easy to see at night and will not let you down. Yes it is utilitarian and does nothing in terms of the wow/style factor but it is has Seiko pedigree. The only thing I would change is the size of the dial which is a little too small. Make no mistake this watch is outstanding value for the money.

Comfortable easy to read glow in the dark design. Nice accurate good value watch, except this one didn't last so long as my much earlier 'quartz' version (shown restrapped on the left, which I've had for ages). After only two years the hour hand stuck. So I bought a third and that arrived broken - the day dial was stuck. Is it time to move on from this model?

My dad has had one of these for many (10+) years and when my grandad needed a new watch while he was in hospital this is what was recommended. Both of them love it and being able to see it in the dark is a huge bonus. My grandad particularly wanted one with a date display and is able to read this as it is nice and clear. The strap is soft and won't rub or dig in. The timepiece itself is standard sized and easy to adjust.

A great watch and a real bargain. I work as a product photographer and my studio is dimly lit in order to control the amount of light needed to illuminate a subject, therefore a watch that I can see under those conditions is perfect. It's accurate, easy to read, slim, lightweight and comfortable to wear. Highly recommended.
