Knitting VISUAL Quick Tips Paperback – September 4, 2007

Really love the size of this QuickTips by the Visual people. Being a newer knitter, I often find that I need some answers or definitions that this book gives me that is so handy to take along with me and my knitting. Perfect size just for that reason alone. I own several books by these people for different things in both the full version and the Quick Tips versions and I've been very happy with every one that I own. Good pictures and descriptions as well as a good index in the back for quickly looking things up.

This book came with some good reviews, like it's the take-along you can't live without, so I bought it. I'm new to knitting. This book does have some good pictures of shaping the parts of a top and showing and explaining how that is done, however, I just bought a simple washcloth pamphlet which has better pictures of, for instance, the knit-below stitch. My pamphlet made that a breeze, but in this book, that stitch is not pictured nearly as clearly and is very confusing: the important picture is just missing so a knitter has no idea where to insert the right needle. So I don't use my book much. Maybe I will someday for other projects, but for now it sits and I use the pamphlets for simple new stitch guides. That's a disappointment.

I bought this book as a gift for a beginner knitter, it's a very nice informative book with many pictures, however the word "portable" on the cover means this book is 5" X 7" not the 9" x 8" size. Otherwise a good book far as this guy can tell.

Teaching someone to knit. This is the perfect book for beginners and for knitters of all skill levels

This is just the knitting resource that I have been looking for. It is compact and covers a million little details that make all the difference in a finished piece. It is organized in a logical fashion and illustrated clearly. Topics include everything from very basic information to very esoteric details. If you own only one knitting resource, this should be it.

I did it! After years of crocheting, I taught myself to knit with this book. The pictures were sequential and the writing/ teaching style intuitive. Great job!

I love this book mostly because of all the photos. It really is a visual instruction book. It is very easy to follow what is being explained thru the writing and the sequence of photos. It's a must-have reference book for both beginner knitters and those with more experience.

The size makes it so handy to take along with knitting projects. Easy to look up answers specific knitting questions.

I have had this book for sometime, and find it absolutely invaluable. It has 100's of useful tips, so you can use it endlessly and also teach yourself knitting things. I would not be without it.

Very useful! I have actually taught myself how to knit very nice things (e.g. hats, blankets) with this book (and some YouTube videos!).
