However if you’ve been using it a while the relief doesn’t last as long and/or over thins the skin, worsening the inflammation. So I gave this a try in combination with the conditioner and my scalp is calmer for much much longer. Itching isn’t a big issue anymore. *If you have dry, curly or Afro textured hair like me a good conditioner is essential to prevent dry hair from this product. The corresponding conditioner is very good. My doctor thought that it might be yeast related. Having tried all the usual shampoos, including prescription strength Ketoconazole without success, I thought I'd try KeraCare. First I tried the spot lotion, which instantly stopped my itching and lasted most of the day (but left my hair greasy). After a week of improvement, I stopped the lotion and used this shampoo instead. The itching has gone completely and, with the shampoo, my hair looks fine.
