Great product! No issues!
50 Pack Acoustic Foam Panels,2"X 12" X 12." I wanted to wait until I purchased my second set to do this review so that it would be honest and accurate. To be clear, these are not for sound proofing...they are for sound absorption just like a sponge absorbing water. They absorb room reflections but do not block sound. They're foam. One example is for vocals to keep the reverb in the room from coming into the mic. This will not keep noise like cars passing by, helicopters flying above, HVAC, or other noise from coming in hence, they will not block sound and soundproof your area. This is something that you as the consumer need to understand and accept BEFORE you purchase these panels. As sound absorption panels, they are good quality panels and work great! Also, to be clear, I am in no way telling, suggesting, or recommending anyone to NOT purchase these panels. They are good quality panels and I have had no issues with them! First thing to know that it clearly says that the adhesive tape does not come with the panels...you have to purchase your own. These are NOT self-adhesive! Second, when using the adhesive tape like 3m, you will need some additional adhesive like Gorilla Glue as foam doesn't always stick to the adhesive tape or the wall. Third, be patient! The best method is to let them set out for at least three days. The first two days is for the "smell" to air out while getting air in. The third day is an extra measure to examine them to see if any forming needs to be done. Pic 1: When then arrived and after I took the package out of the Amazon Box. Pic 2: When I took them out of the main wrapping. There are two vacuum sealed packs. Pic 3: When I took them out of the main wrapping. Since it's now unsealed, air started coming in and they already started expanding. Note: They expand quickly so prepare to get them out of the back quick! Pic 4: What they looked like 5 minutes later. Some expanded in full and some didn't and are deformed. There are two to each "stack". Pic 5: One of the "stacks" that was still somewhat compressed and deformed. Pic 6: After I pulled apart the stack that was still somewhat compressed. One panel. Pic 7. The other panel. Notice on both panel the triangles are deformed. Pic 8: Me beginning to pull the triangles gently. Pic 9: Me fully and gently pulling the triangles gently. As you can see, it's already getting it's form back. For the panels that are deformed, gently pulling the foam to get it to form helps get more air in and they will get their form quicker! This part takes patience! Those that said the panels would not take shape or stay deformed are not doing this to help shape the panels! Pic 10: All 50 Panels laid out and getting air All of this was done within one hour. They still need air out to completely form. Although the directions state 24 hours, it's better to wait 3 days. On my first set, I sprayed some Febreze to further take out the smell and will do the same to these. This does not take away their absorption properties.

Great panels. Cheap ones, but pretty decent.
Had these for probably a couple years on my wall now, can't complain about the adhesive at all! Holds very strongly and would likely strip the paint on my wall if I had to take them off, can't complain about that! These look great and are dense enough to take the echo out of rooms which allows for a better listening experience. For how much they were, I really can't complain at all, I like them! I like the look of these over the foam ones!

Good product, but needs slight improvement.
Looks great and works as intended. However, likely due to the packaging, more than half of the panels did not peel off the backing paper easily, and the adhesive remained stuck to the paper instead. It took some extra ingenuity and effort to resolve the issue. If this packaging problem were fixed, the product would easily deserve a 5-star rating.

Gave my mom some peace and quiet for her Birthday...
I bought my mom some "peace and quite" for her birthday... did her laundry room and she loves it. These squares make ceilings super easy and I used 8 on the 32x80 door. Full coverage is much easier IMO but not required. Honestly once you get the first 4 up you'll likely go get whoever else is home to make sure you're not having a stroke. These panels are super bizarre as they literally create a black hole effect in a room you thought was quiet. Even sealed in the Amazon box they somehow absorb sound lol. My dogs LOVE the rooms with these tiles as the cave like stillness is awesome. These were the first batch of self adhesive panels I'd bought. They are on par with the others I've purchased as far as noise canceling/look. You can pay more for slightly nicer looking panels but now that I've heard both side by side I will not be buying the next price point up because they simply aren't worth it for me personally. The adhesive is NO JOKE you get ONE shot. Peel the backer off one edge and lay it in place with one hand under holding the peeled backer and the other hand on top of the tile holding the sticky edge in place. When you got it close peel the backer off and VERY lightly press and make sure you're still lined up. Once you press down these are permanent IMO. The adhesive is on par with self stick flooring. I did absolutely ZERO base prep... just stuckem up. The adhesive is overkill which is what I personally prefer. I used blue painters tape mark my borders and edges. If you are doing full coverage you could easily do a whole room in an hour or two max. A large HD paper cutter will cut these perfectly straight. I cut half way across and then flip it and finish the cut. You absolutely could use a utility knife and a good straight edge, BUT if you're doing a whole room get a large paper cutter. I'm using a Wescott 15in 30 sheet cutter. The trick for straight cuts is the half cut. Honestly this puts so little stress on the cutter you could return it... but that's on you. Just ordered 3 more sets for my Dad's office. He doesn't get excited about much, but they were both blown away.

Develops Musty Smell, but Effective Sound & Echo Dampening
I have bought these twice, and the second set developed a terrible mildew smell within a few months just like other reviews have mentioned. I had to take those down and trash them. Both sets were effective, but I used them for acoustic dampening, not soundproofing. First set went in a giant HVAC unit closet that holds a heat pump, and it dampened the sound. I used the adhesive backing and stuck these to the exposed back of drywall, they stick great even being exposed to a range of hot and cold temps. Second set went in a corner of my bedroom where the HVAC heat pump noise echoed. It dampened the echo. I did NOT use the sticky side on the drywall, I was able to use a single nail in the corner of each panel to hold them in place. They did great to cut down the echo, but this was the set that started to smell musty after a few months. I live in the high desert and it's never above 35% humidity indoors, so. This is a problem with the product and how it's packaged and container shipped. It's hit or miss, you won't know for a couple of months if you have a problem with he mold and mildew growing in the tiles. So. If you are putting these up somewhere not in your living space with the understanding these are sound and echo dampening, not sound proofing, go for it. If you want it for your bedroom, find something else that won't be surprisingly smelly in a few months.

MILITARY GRADE ADHESIVE!!! UNREMOVABLE!!
Adhesive is far, far, far too strong. These are absolutely NOT renter friendly. I wish I had read the reviews before making this purchase and sticking them up on my wall. For anyone else who ended up in my position, here was my method: Let Goo Gone spray gel soak into the adhesive for at least 1 hour, maybe up to 3 hours and be sure to re-apply a few times. After the adhesive backing starts to pull away from the wall a little, go in with a plastic scraping device (I used a plastic dough bench scraper). Be patient, and try to peel as much of the adhesive off of the wall as possible, rather than just scraping. Use the scraper to work your way around edges and give yourself little areas to start peeling up with your fingers. This process and the trial and error of figuring it out took me about 4 and a half hours, during which I took no breaks and swore like a sailor. I’ll never buy these again. Also they didn’t even make my room less echo-ey.

Be a little patient sometimes when peeling off the back don't pull too hard don't pull too fast.
These turned out to be pretty cool . Easy to work with. When peeling the back the sticky part peels up with it sometimes. Not a big deal . Just like pushing your cuticle back. You peel the back a little bit the sticker might come up too when it does you just take your fingernail and push it back that's it. Once you push the back you can peel off the whole back of it and you're good to go. Most of the time you don't have to even deal with it because there's going to be one corner of the peel off that's a little bit longer so you can peel off the back super easy. I was putting them on the ceiling and it's a no-brainer. Start out square put the next piece up against the last piece nice and square and you're good next thing you know you've stuck 72 of them on your ceiling. And it really really works sound deadening material spot on.

Looks good
Very simple to install, make sure you measure at least twice. Sticks to walls great, if doing ceiling, use liquid nails, couple dabs. There was one panel that the corner was chipped, company should use protectors for the corners when shipping. Other than that, it's worth it. Been a week now and holding up.

Great if you don't have to relocate it
Looked good, easy to install. Turns out the adhesive is still strong enough to peel paint off the wall. Good thing I had to repaint anyways.

I'm glad I ordered these
I did the back wall in my sound room with these and I was a little worried, after reading the reviews, that I would have unusable ones. I only had one to spare and when I took them out of the packing, some of them looked bad. They were squished tight where they were cut and I thought I could use them where I needed a cut one. I pinched and squeezed the edges and they started to look a little better and by the time I got around to using them, they were fine. I put them up with 3M ultra tape, but the top row is on a beam, so I hot-glued them. They really helped with the acoustics while listening to records.
