Hoping these would have worked alot better than the worn out ones replaced. Not the case . Spent ages tinkering but still no great stopping power.

I swapped out my old Tektro mechanical disc breaks, mainly because the old rotors had gone and stopping power had diminished. I replaced with the whole Clarks CMD set. Rotors, callipers & pads from Halfords.I did notice the rotors had less surface area and so did the pads, with a small crescent area missing from what would normally be a full circle. I used these for about a year. Cycling every day to work. I tolerated them to say the least.The rear brake had no stopping power at all. When the front one got so bad I thought I should order new pads, maybe things will improve. When I did order them, I noticed the new ones were a complete disc, with no crescent slice missing.They do have more grip on the rotor but I'm still not overly impressed. I know they are mechanical, but I one had a mechanical set that would stop me dead, allow nollies over the front wheel, and allow me to complete steep descents with confidence. These Clarks are strictly for the road only. They just don't bight! Maybe hydraulics in the future?

Need to open the brakes wide to fit. The previous pads were magnetic so sat in the holder well. These new ones although pretty straightforward to fit are currently riding on the disc. Will update when I have put them through their paces a bit.

Just what I needed for my mountain bike after I made the modification of removing the little bar that sticks out as my brake pads did not have this. very pleased with item.
