This is incredibly useful sealant and coating or repairing felt roofs or for extending the life of the roof. Have used it for sticking down torn roofing felt to sealing porous old felt to covering clout nail heads which were letting water in. Not cheap but well worth it.

This stuff is brilliant! I built a very large shed several years ago and used good quality roof felt but a few cracks were appearing at the roof folds. I The roof is approximately 14 square metres and this tin covered it perfectly. I could not believe how well it filled the cracks and provided a new skin. It also looks fantastic.

First the roof seal arrived in well prepared box and opening was packed with stiff paper. The tin was in a plastic bag and lifting it out of the box the tin was leaking black seal every where. The tin had two fairly large dents on its side and a securing clip on the top of the was missing letting some of the seal to leak out disappointed. But Thompsons roof seal did an excellent job on my 8x6 shed roof.and was easy to apply with a large roller which had to be disposed of when finished.. I would recommend Thompsons roof seal and am well pleased.

I started to use this product a few years ago to paint onto the flat roofs of two bay windows which had previously let in water. I buy a tin of this every three years or so and apply a couple of coats. I've never had problems with water ingress since using it, but even though I follow the instructions to the letter, after a couple of years it starts to peel off in places and eventually new coats must be applied. I don't mind that so much, as I am just painting a relatively small area and I treat it as essential maintenance. The product is easy to use (I applied it with a brush) and provides good coverage. I expect it to prevent water getting into my property, but I certainly don't expect it to last 10 years - it never does!
