Great item and good packaging. Quick delivery. It was a gift, so hopefully it will grow a glow in the dark crystal! My 9-year-old has grown crystals in the past and it has been a very enjoyable process.

Turned out nice!
Bought this for my 6 year old daughter.We used de-ionised water from a car parts shop as we live in a very hard water area.Followed instructions, didn't manage to dissolve all of the powder into the boiling water as was suggested might happen. Daughter enjoyed watching it grow over the next 10 days.Was easy to drain off remaining water and remove from the pint glass. Was a little disappointed the crystals weren't green as advertised - although the seed rock (piece of plaster with textured surface) does glow in the dark.Daughter loves it regardless, she really does treasure it and is very proud of it.I think it looks pretty cool, there isn't much to do in the sense of 'preparation' - Just stir in powder to boiling water which I was a bit cautious of my 6 year old doing.

Chistmas present. It was not that great. My 6 years old could not do much with it cause it involves hot water... plus his dad did it wrong so it got ruined...The product seems like a nice idea though. My daughter would have loved it. Would buy it again.

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. The experiment was fun and easy todo.My daughter now has a really cool crystal that glows in the dark.My only issue is that if I was todo this experiment over again, I wouldn’t use a pint glass as recommended. The reason being it was hard to remove the crystal once it’d finished growing.

Misleading advertising: Not green and not glowing
The marketing of this product is almost a scam. You don't grow any "glow-in the dark crystal", let alone something green. You grow white NH4H2PO4 crystals on a phosphorescent plaster-like artificial seed (provided). The crystal itself is not green, it's white, and does not glow. Only the plaster you put underneath glows. You do get a sample of an actual Fluorite (CaF2), which by the way, does not glow either, not even under UV light. The white crystals that you grow are actually lovely (see photo), but that's not what I paid for. Also, the crystal is extremely fragile so you can't touch it without it breaking. One star only because of the fake marketing.
