4.5 Stars - The DT1 crimp tool works fantastic, the connectors are good
First, the DT1 tool is excellent. Very well built, very easy to use and creates a picture-perfect crimp on closed-barrel contacts. In the past, I've used the stamped terminals. These work ok, but they're fussy... You have to carefully align the terminal into the jaws of your crimper, then carefully align the stripped end of your conductor into the terminal. Then make sure nothing slips/moves around while you crimp. Then you always do the tug-test to ensure you've achieved a good crimp. This is all easy enough when doing your electrical work at the workbench; but when working inside an enclosure or cramped space with bad visibility or ergonomics - it's tougher to do it right. With a closed barrel terminal and a tool like the DT1, you plop the terminal onto your stripped conductor - and it stays put so song as the wire is angled upwards. Then you slide the tool down onto the terminal until it bottoms out. Then you squeeze. It's so easy and straightforward you almost don't need to bother with a tug test.So far I've only used the DT1 tool on size 16 terminals. My pal has the bigger DT2 tool that provides more leverage at the expense of a bulkier, heavier tool. That may be beneficial for the bigger size 20 terminals in DT or DTP connectors - but for DTMs, I prefer the more compact DT1.I've found the JRR connectors to be fully interchangeable with actual Deutsch connectors. The connector housings themselves, the seals and the wedgelocks. Quality appears totally equal. The 1/2 star demerit is only on account of the fact these are, in fact, "knock-offs" and not the real deal. Also, I think JRR should supply extra wedgelocks and contacts - instead of just the *bare* minimum. You'll undoubtedly want to do some test-crimps and/or make a few mistakes. Order yourself some extra wedgelocks and contacts and toss them into the kit.Last, the de-pinning tool in this kit works great. Once you snatch the wedgelock out (only requires a good set of needlenose pliers), the tabs are easily lifted and the contacts removed. You can almost do it just by feel without even looking at it. Much, much easier than most standard automotive connectors.

Nice kit.
Not impressed w/the adjustable positioner. For this kind of money, it should be fixed and not left to chance (for example: it moves after a few hundred crimps and you don't catch it)Good thing is that you can use it on all kinds of other terminals as a result.
