Original equipment is always best.
The filter should be changed regularly and this as original Samsung filter or a very competitive price. Instructions from the supplier quite explicit advising that it needed a little extra push to get it to fit.Top quality and something that is often overlooked with refrigerators that dispense water.

Be aware of the modified fitting issue that people here are reporting...
I have had my Samsung fridge freezer for just over 4 years and have bought these water filters every 6 months ever since without any issues.However, a number of more recent reviews have shattered confidence in purchasing further products from Amazon citing a modification in the fitting mechanism which means it not longer fits correctly. There was a very helpful image from another customer on here that shows the original design (that fits) and the modified version (that doesn't). I was very relieved to discover that my new water filter had the correct original fitting so I proceeded to replace it successfully.

Works well as far as I know!
Please note need to twist it in fully. Takes quite a bit of force - first few times I tgt I'd fitted it, it fell out few weeks later - and I don't think it was ever doing it's job, but after lots of googling turns out it really does need to turn as far as is indicated on the markings. I'd thought I'd break something, but I didn't and it clicked into place. I suspect this is a fault with the fridge design rather than the product.
