Good synopsis and starter book
Excellent overview but lacks depth of Susan Quinn's work on Horney. I recommend this one for a starter in understanding an important, dynamic woman of psychology in the 20th century. She was ahead of her time in thoughts, and survives only because at the core she is very relevant.

Formation of thought
Horney was one member of the formulation of the first generation of "Freud II". Her work is a very important adendum to Freud's original work.
