The company who supplied the kit was very quick to deliver. Top marks to them.
I bought this kit as a change from the Tamiya kit of the same vehicle. From the box illustration, it would seem to be an Afrika Korps vehicle but it is not.The kit is completely inferior to the Tamiya version. I think this is the sort of kit that a Dad would buy for his lad to build then he could play with it.If you want a model of the Kubelwagen, and not a toy, go for one of the versions by Tamiya. This kit is now marketed by Revell with different art work on the box.

Good, but moulding issues
Good Price and quick delivery, but the quality of the moulding is not as good as some other manufacturers.

Decent kit, despite it's age
As usual, I like to quantify my reviews with the provenance of the kit's moulds- in this case, the Italeri Kubelwagen first made it's appearance in the 1970s. In fact, the old Italaeri logo is still on the sprues, before the spelling change to "Italeri". First, I want to address some of the unfair comparisons to the Tamiya kit. The Tamiya kit is actually from the 1990s - the original 1970s Tamiya kit is rarely seen these days, but if you compare the Italeri kit to the old Tamiya one, the Italeri kit is vastly superior in every way. The old Tamiya kit had ugly, weird tires, was too fat and short, and came with two of the same dwarf-like figures. So yes, the 1990s Tamiya kit is better...but it's not a fair comparison. On a side note, the 1990s Bego/Dragon/Hasegawa Kubel is still the best on the market, if you want a really good version. It's 1000 times better than the Tamiya offering. Back to the Italeri kit. While it lacks the refinement of today's kits, the bones are pretty good. The dimensions are correct and apart from a bit of flash and ejector marks, it's still a pretty clean moulding. Actually, some of the smaller parts are quite nice, such as the headlights, horn, mirrors, notek light, license plate, etc. No exhaust system is included - a bit odd. The windshield is a seperate transparent piece with moulded on wipers - you may want to add your own small blocks for wiper motors - easily done with scrap plastic. The European style tires are finely rendered. Fit and finish is fine for even a new modeller - the reviews that say otherwise speak to the lack of skill of the modeller and should be dismissed. The decals are nice, with a couple of different options - panzer regiment 284, panzer armee oberkommando and a Hermann Goering option. You don't see decals for these units very often, so very welcome for the spares box . Luftwaffe and Heer license plate decals are included and even tiny tire pressure stencils are present. A low point is the toylike folded tilt. The folded out version is decent. As has been the case for many years, you get a pensive Rommel figure and a bare chested Afrika Korps radio operator. A table, chair and radio are included - for added realism, you may want to add your own aerial and handset. A nice bonus is the "tent" that is included - actually four "zeltbahn" shelter quarters that were attached together. One of them is folded back to make a door. So really, you get a mini diorama in one box. The zeltbahn setup could also be used for your other dioramas. All in all, considering it's age, it's not too bad and good value for what you get in the box. Recommended, with the caveats noted above.

Nice little kit.
Shipping was fast and well packaged. The model itself is a nice example. As with all kits we each have a option. Also like any model your the builder. Build it as you like. Also has a convertible top. Options of up or down. The figures are very good. One Africa korp and a nice general figure. Europe or Africa. Over all. I found the details very good. Instructions easy to follow. Nice decals. 👍👍

Tolles Modell,
