Great product, but I prefer my method.
Ive never really used tack cloths before. I usually use my compressor to blow the dust off my projects then go behind that with a damn lint free cloth. I love using the micro fiber wafer towels to wipe dust off projects between coats. I really dont know what made me decide to give these tack cloths a try this time around, but they work great. Nothing life changing, because my method of wiping dust off projects works fine, but these do work great between coats. Its a nice large folded cloth so when one part of it gets dirty you can just fold it differently to use a new area. One area where I can see these having an advantage over the method I use is fine wood working projects with extra glossy finishes. Microfiber will grab larger particles of dirt and trap them, which in turn will cause scratches in your finish. This isnt a big deal if you are going with a flat or satin finish as the scratches will more than likely not show up, but for a semi gloss to glossy finish. These would be preferred to wipe down your project between coats.I dont know if I will purchase them again. I think its a great product and 5 star worthy but I really dont see a need to use them over my original method of compressed air and microfiber waffle towel. Plus that way works one every finish, both oil and water based finishes. These tack cloths can not be used with all finishes. I think that is due to the residue that the cloth can leave behind. What ever reason it may be. Check the instructions and caution label of the finish you are using before using a tack cloth. Especially for water based finishes. I know of one finish in particular that these cloths cant be used with. That is General Finishes Milk Paints. So even though you may read other reviewers saying they use these with all finishes. I warn against listening to them and instead opt to check the product label.

Fantastic surface prep when used in LIGHT strokes
PROs:- Perfect amount of tack (when used according to package directions — enough to capture loose sanding dust and specs, but not so tacky to leave a residue)- Individually packaged, so you can open new ones as needed — these will last a long time- Big sheets, so one cloth can be refolded and used many timesCONs (or rather, things to keep in mind):- Need to wipe LIGHTLY for best effect (catch dust, but not leave residue)- We had to store cloth in zip bag so it doesn't dry out and loose tackinessWe used these tack cloths as part of our toolkit in painting our kitchen cabinets — we used them between each sanding step and they worked great in removing all dust, sanded wood and paint specs and any debris between coats of primer and paint. The key is to use light strokes. We wore rubber gloves when using the cloth and a zip top bag to store it — our kitchen project took a few days, so we didn't want the cloth to dry out. We finished the top cabinets so far (16 doors and corresponding frames), and one tack cloth easily handled all that — sanded doors and frames, 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint (so 4 rounds of using the tack cloth on all doors and frames). Before discovering tack cloths, we had simply wiped down items between coats or vacuumed them, and I feel like the cloths give a much cleaner surface to apply the next coat to.

Yes, they work.
I've tried cheaper and been disappointed. It's not worth it when you have to use two to do the job of one of these.

Excellent tack cloth
We have been doing a large project of painting the kitchen cabinets. I originally had some yellow tact clothes that seemed to leave some color behind. So I ordered some cheap white tack clothes (another brand that I reviewed) that were white but had no stickiness and were a complete waste. I ordered these Crystal ones thinking they would be white (don't know why I thought that) but they are a pale yellow. In any event, these are totally awesome. There is no transfer of color at all and they are definitely sticky. Love this product!!!

Very good tack cloths at a reasonable price.
If you do any painting on metal or wood that requires sanding beforehand, (and what doesn't?) you need these tack cloths. Sure, some auto supply stores or big-box stores stock tack cloths, but they're generally over priced. These are reasonably priced, and the 1/2 SQ YD size allows you to cut them down for small projects. I used them while sanding, staining, and finishing (w/ urethane) plaques and hangars for mounting antique musical instruments and other collectibles. (The 1860 Colt is a non-firing replica.)
