Serviceable for lighter duty items
This kind of shelving with the solid metal shelves used to be more available. Now one has the shelves with composite inserts or those ridiculous mesh shelves that require some sort of liner so things with legs don’t wobble through and get in a bind. Worse still, “liners” required if something accidentally spills on an upper level and drops though onto items below. I had a brief fire in my basement a while back and do not need anything that chars, burns, warps or melts.Commercial grade all solid metal shelving is out there but harder to find and costly. That being said this is, for one person, awkward to manage. As is usual with items today, instructions are unclear and pictures very basic. Some time wasted thinking through proper assembly as the very minimal instructions and piece count do not clearly identify which is the inside and which is the outside of the horizontals . Which is the “east” side ?..Which is the top and bottom of the verticals. A clear illustration is worth having. Thinking the assembly through is doable but a time waster.Once assembled it is still lightweight. The horizontals have button rivets which go into the big top end of a keyhole slot and then drop down, all very fine except a few of them were slightly crooked so the gap did not exist on one side .. careful reworking managed to not break those with this issue. I just tried to hammer the squished side by lightly tapping a nail set from the back. It only needs enough tweaking to make a space for the slot to grab. Also the verticals are folded at the edges and some adjusting is required as they can be slightly compressed for the plastic fittings they are required to accept. The top cap, a right angled plastic piece needed a smidge of trimming as two of them were a hair too long. For all the plastic pieces, just be careful you don’t force any of them until you have examined and readjusted the metal it is supposed to slip. Into. The metal ends can also be slightly off from their intended right angle shape.Being only one person I had to assemble the top to the bottom by putting them on the floor and then carefully levering them up. A chore when you can’t see the underside of all the joins. Even with the stationary shelf in place I would not recommend moving the unit by grasping above where the two halves join or lifting by any of the shelves, especially the middle one at the join. There is still a bit of slop and the join can move. The button rivets at the shelf corners still can move up and down and can pop out of place. It is still a hair wobbly even after assembly but you can mitigate that by putting heavier items on the lower half…which is good advice for any shelving as heavy items are awkward to raise over your head anyway. That being said it is useable for the price and fuss. I would still pay more for nuts and bolts, especially at the join and units with extra cross bracing for stability but this unit is ok for most household use, pantry, closet, and laundry.

I was able to contact seller and resolve issue with product
The shelves originally came with scratches but the seller was able to resolve my problem. Overall this is the best shelve available at this price level. The height is ideal. I would say make sure you get a good quality one. The material is solid but the smaller side rails will easily bend.At this price point the shelve does the job and is able to hold heavy items when is put together. If you are planning on using this in separate pieces I would not recommend it. If you are planning on modding it. It is easy to use for DIY ideas. If you are planning on modifying it I would strongly recommend it. It is very easy to work with if it needs to be bent or a new hole needs to be open compared to other options. It is not as solid as the more expensive shelves but it is solid enough to hold a significant weight. I have easily put 50lb on it and it held but it requires weight distribution.

Serving their purpose
Overall, shelving units are doing what they are intended for. I would have given five stars but did not only because of the poor packaging. Package is extremely heavy and the post office had trouble moving it and thus the box was badly damaged and the product exposed. Some of the rails needed to be bent back into shape. Not a big deal as it was easily done.

Look for damage
Shelf was damaged during shipping. One corner was torn open and the shelves and uprights were bent. I was able to re-square the shelves and hammer the uprights straight. Once it was together it works good. Had to screw it to the wall to keep it from leaning. Nice shelf but poor packing carton

New pantry shelves/storage
So glad I bit the bullet and replaced 2 wobbly shelves with this great sturdy metal shelve! It is so roomy, doesn't tilt or shelves don't sag and there is so much room plus I like the ability of adjusting the shelves to fit out needs! Follow the directions and it is a breeze to put together!

Nice for pantry
Easy enough for me assemble by myself. Works well for my intended use. I needed extra storage for canning jars. Unlike other reviewers, I didn’t expect this to have industrial warehouse rack strength. It is a standard unit. Once assembled correctly, I have it full of canning jars, add it works well

Perfect for my needs
This shelving unit is actually pretty, it doesn’t just look like a “metal shelf.” It fits perfectly in my home office! I’m glad my son-in-law put it together for me though- it didn’t look super easy.

Cheaper metal.
I like the price and the size, but like they say, you get what you pay for it.The shelves are thin metal and legs flimsy and bend easily. Cheap quality.Had to use wall anchors to keep it from twisting
