I sent for this as a gift for a proficient quilter. I think she'll be delighted with it as it takes her quilting skills and suggests different ways of using them. There's a good range of ideas plus comprehensive patterns.

Love this book, I want to make all the bags.

I love this book the instructions are clear and easy to understand. The designs are beautiful and the book is very well written and beautifully illustrated. Yes a lot of it is hand sewing as mentioned in other reviews but I welcome the idea of sitting in my cosy armchair by the fire during this coming winter creating these beautiful things. It is a great way to get back in touch with how people used to sew before we had our brilliant sewing machines that do it all for us. I am so pleased that I bought this book and can't wait to get started on one of the projects. This is the kind of book that makes me want to make every project which is unusual for me as I have bought many books and only liked a few of the ideas. I think that this book is great for both the experienced seamstress and beginners. I would have loved such a book way back when I was a beginner.

This is beautiful book,very prompt delivery came the very next day and some lovely projects throughout the book. Out of all my quilting books(of which i have quite a few) this has to be my favourite and i WILL ! be working my way though each of the 36 projects, i have already been asked to make one of the bags by a friend. This book really gave me itchy fingers to start my only dilemma which one 1st, there is some hand sewing in most projects but i also like doing that and at the front the book explains and shows you how to do the stitches which are simple and complement the given project. This book i feel is very good value for money and i highly recommend it

This book far exceeded my expectations. There isn't one of the thirty six projects that I don't want to make. It is written well with clear instructions (written and pictorial). All templates are full size. As I have only had the book for a few days, I have only managed to make one item so far. The process was easy and pleasurable with very good results. Some sewing/applique experience would be beneficial, but not essential as the author does explain her own techniques for the basics. I feel this book is a breath of fresh air for those who love Japanese sewing, the projects are modern and colourful. I wish Search Press the publisher would consider the format and quality of this book when working with UK sewing authors.

This is a really lovely book that is full of inspirational ideas. The pictures and instructions are very clear and templates for the appliqué are also included. Everyone I have shown the book to has commented how nice the designs are and they have all said what good value for money it is. I would definitely recommend buying it.

Excellent boek. Duidelijke beschrijvingen en verschillende projecten. Ik kon niet wachten om met een project te beginnen en ben er de dag van ontvangst dan ook mee begonnen. De uitleg is gedetailleerder dan in de boeken van Yoko Saito en zijn derhalve beter geschikt voor iemand met minder ervaring. Desniettemin zou ik dit boek niet aanraden voor een compleet nieuwe beginner.
