When ordered I thought this was flat cotton...like bias binding without the folds but then read some of the customer questions which referred to it as being herringbone. I therefore went to cancel the order as it would have been to lose for what I wanted...the seller emailed back saying it is just cotton and sent it anyway. It's not the bias binding type cotton I wanted and not quite the herringbone...somewhere in between (woven I guess) but I kept it anyway as it is very good quality and I'm sure I will use it. It isn't as thick as the herringbone tape which I already have; it is a tighter weave and therefore will be great for hemming...even for bunting albeit I think too good for that. Definitely recommended.
