I actually bought this 14mm pointing trowel for a slightly unconventional job—smoothing out a heavy bead of silicone sealant along the bottom base of an external door. Standard plastic profiling tools just weren't giving me the reach or the flat, neat finish I needed against the uneven floor surface. This tool worked absolutely brilliantly for it. The springiness of the steel blade allowed me to glide effortlessly along the sealant line, leaving an incredibly neat, professional, and completely smooth finish. The blade weld feels rock-solid where it meets the handle, so there's no worrying about it snapping under a bit of pressure. Whether you're doing traditional mortar jointing or looking for a precise tool to smooth out heavy-duty exterior seals, this is a fantastic bit of kit for the price. Because it is carbon steel rather than stainless steel, you do need to wipe it clean and dry it thoroughly after use to keep it in pristine, rust-free condition.

Great set of pointing trowels. I really like these ones and they did the job well. I’m not a professional trades person, so not sure how they match up in the hands of someone who uses them professionally, but I’m really pleased with them.

Great value for money and ideal having five sizes to choose from when pointing a patio that has different sized joints. Easy to use with comfortable handles and they feel they will be durable. The finish on the handles not that great but for the price I consider them good value.

ideal for getting into narrow gaps, to re mortar patio, which is crazy paving with old stone, so not straight standard pointing gaps like you would get with paving slabs
