Good monitor to buy to figure out that you don't need one for still photos. Also, it's kind of slow.
I was tempted to buy the expensive monitors but something told me that it might not be the best investment for me. I am not into video, yet, but it seemed like a good idea to buy a monitor because it would help me focus and would be more comfortable to use my R5. And it does do those things, but I am not sure it would work out for me on a professional gig, I think I'd end up ripping it off after 20 minutes of still photography. The primary reason is that it's slow to change from live view to image review. If you want to chimp a little you have to be prepared for the monitor to take a while to switch over to slide show, then you have to wait a while for it to switch back to live view. I didn't time it but it was at least ten seconds. I would have been very frustrated by this delay on a job.You could argue I shouldn't be chimping, and you're right - but sometimes you need to be 110% sure you got a shot and that it's not secretly blurry or out of focus, so I chimp. We all do, don't lie.I am still giving it five stars though because I think most people would want this thing for video, and wouldn't use it for still photography. And for video this thing is well worth the money. I could totally see where the focus tools and histogram would totally come in handy and make your job easier. The lack of a touch screen didn't bother me as much as I thought it would - and the complaints about poor build quality on the joy stick were not as much of a big deal for me. I kind of appreciate that it's all plastic, it's making the unit much lighter than I think it would be, so all good. One drawback that is not Osee's fault - you can't control the canon r5 with the monitor. I think you can do that with some competing monitors on a Nikon, but not a Canon. Also, as soon as the monitor starts up the canon R5 screens and viewfinder go blank. This means no more moving the focus point my touching your screen. If you are trying to figure out if you want a field monitor, this is a good place to start. Plenty useful and has all the tools you'll need with out breaking the bank. All in all, it's am impressive piece of kit for $145 and it will live, mostly unused, in my camera bag forever or until i get into video.

Osee T5+ - The best value for your money!
The Osee T5+ Is an outstanding monitor. This monitor is budget friendly, and packs plenty of essential features for any filmmaker or creative. The various exposure tools, and the ability to load your own viewing luts are key features, and they're all found in the T5+. The most surprising attribute is the brightness. The 1000 nits of brightness truly makes this monitor one of the brightest available at its price point. This monitor is prepared to perform well in any environment! I'm impressed, and I look forward to trying out more Osee products in the future.

lightweight, bright
Good little monitor. I have been trying to figure out how to get the battery out to a dummy battery for a GH6. Most battery outs are 5.5mm barrel connectors, but this one is 4mm. Not documented anywhere, so I had to figure it out myself. Only problem is, the battery out is right next to the HDMI input and has some plastic covering it, making a tight fit and thus needs a staright barrel connector. I really just want a 4mm to dummy battery, but nobody makes them. They are all 5.5mm and even then would not fit with the cover since most have right angle connectors. Frustrating problem. I wrote to Osee support so I hope they can help me. Now that I think about it more, I find it extremely frustrating that they decided to put the DC out in such a tight spot and that they didn't use the standard 5.5mm barrel plug size. If you don't need to get power out from this device, go for it, but if you want to juice your camera with a dummy battery, stay away.

AWESOME monitor for the money
Awesome monitor, can install custom LUTs and it has loads of great features, my favourite is the auto rotation so that when you turn it upside down it auto flips! Comes in really handy for changing setups quickly. Nice and bright so works great outside too.

Broke first day of use
The weight of the thing is good but had me suspicious because it felt cheap. The cables it comes with are extremely short and really the lowest quality cable you could possibly find. That being said the short end of the HDMI bent when I went to take the plastic covering off of it. I still tried to connect and i had to play with the cable to get it to register that my camera was connected. Then when it did finally flick on the screen was fine for a bit and the suddenly half the screen glitched out and looked like a broken TV. I turned it off and turned it back on and the problem stayed. Overall I would say save your money and get an Atomos Shinobi and save yourself the frustration of this monitor. Terrible product. Do not recommend.

very bright and auto flip is the best feature
its one of the best low cost video camera monitor on the market. Very bright in door using use at the second lowest value. the arm first look bulkier than other monitor mount with center tilt mount but this arm mount make transformation from regular to selfie view is a breeze with its auto flip. All feature are great with its own adjustment to meet your need. Very usable false color. HDMI plug is deep inside and very safe and ridgid. Highly recommended. Great investment.

Worth every cent!!
Absolutely incredible for the price!! It has made framing and using manual focus so much easier. It also inspires me to make more content seeing what I’m shooting on a larger screen while shooting. It is made of a lot grade plastic. Not cheep but not premium. The thumb toggle is a so like 4/10 but does the job. Other then that I freaking love it!

A fantastic budget monitor that punches way above its weight class
I have been looking for a small monitor for a while. My previous one has been a small HD 502 which has a fantastic user interface and excellent image quality. The problem with it was the screen brightness which landed somewhere around 400nits. Which always made it tough to judge the true exposure of a shot (indoor and outdoor). The image always looked darker than what it actually was. So basically, I just wanted a brighter version of that without dropping a ton of cash because lets be honest, 5-6" monitors should not be costing between $500-$1000. The new budget Small HD is utter trash. and other options that have a great interface and at least 800nits brightness are hard to find. Plus, I don't need touchscreen. In fact, for a monitor, I didn't actually want it since it gunks up the screen. A simple joystick was all I wanted. Enter Osee, which I had never heard of. It seemed to have everything I wanted. Joystick controls, ari locating holes for magic arm mounts, all the imaging tools like waveform, peaking, false colour etc, the ability to create multiple pages (I think the max is 3 which is no problem), it takes both Sony and Canon batteries and has 1000nit brightness. And all this at an amazing price. So what's the catch? There really isn't one! The build quality isn't the most robust but unless you're an idiot and don't know how to properly take care of your gear, then it's totally fine. This is a fantastic monitor and I have added Osee to the brands that I will use again.

Can't go wrong.
Honestly great for the price. Bright and clear screen with all the tools you'd need. I only wish you could have a flipped screen as one of the presegs as it can be a pain going into the menu for that. Other than that I highly recommend.

Great Field Monitor
I picked this monitor up after watching several YouTube reviews that all raved about it. It mostly lives up to the hype.I use this as a bigger screen for my camcorder and camera. It works well, has a ton of features, and is very bright. I appreciate that it uses the Canon LP-E6 batteries as well as the Sony ones. So far I only have had two minor issues...1. the included bracket is not quite square... this leads to the monitor sitting not quite level... annoying, but not a deal breaker.2. I am getting color banding on the display where I should have a smooth gradient. I have not seen this mentioned in any review, so it may very well be a user issue, or to do with the hdmi output from my camera. This is not a deal breaker for me as I am using the monitor for framing and checking focus. If you need an inexpensive field monitor, this one appears to provide great value.
