Crisp and easy to read
I bought this mainly to test the quality of a digital comic. The zoom function bothered me initially, but once I got used to it, I quite enjoyed the digital version. It is certainly easier to read than the paper version, and the illustrations are very crisp.

Poor writing and a bad collection.
I don't know what DC are thinking. They reboot the entire DC universe, then basically put it back to the way it was by bringing back obsolete characters and overcrowding the universe with more heroes than villains and stale plot-lines that make little sense. In this book, they bring back poor versions of characters that are suppose to be strong enough to go up against the Justice League but on paper, each one would lose against their counterpart, by a mile. Lets take Catwoman vs. Batman for example. She has already been beaten by him over, and over, and over again. Who in the right mind would consider her an admirable opponent for him? They you have the infiltration plot-line, where one of the league is shot point-blank in the head. Then in the very next issue, they do the stupidest reversal to bring them back. It makes zero sense why that person would be there or why the others couldn't have deduced who it really was etc. Then, you have the creation of what appears to be Doctor Light in the final panel of issue 5, and his immediate death in the very next panel because we are missing an issue of the storyline. Then another issue is missing between 6 and 7. Its the most useless, confusing collection of comics ever put together in one book. But even if that missing issue was included, there are several developments to the team rotas that don't make any sense and I'm left thinking we are actually missing many issues. It appears they simply put this team together because they were bored and wanted something to use later on as a massive crossover event. But the team were only on issue six when that big event happened. Its way to early for them to have even gelled as a team or developed strategies for teamwork. The only real fight they have before the war is against a bear and they lose! Worse team-up ever!

The world's second-best super-team
The story running through issues #1-5 of DC Comics' New 52 Justice League of America is collected, along with issues #6 & #7, which are episodes of the `Trinity War' crossover-event, as Justice League of America Volume 1: World's Most Dangerous HC (The New 52) (Justice League of America (DC Comic Numbered)) . This story tells of the origin and first team-building missions of the world's second-best super-hero team, created by the US Government after the Atlantis Incident in the big Justice League's own comic, to provide the US with the capability to defend itself against the possibility of more rogue Justice League members. Colonel Steve Trevor, under the administration of Amanda Waller, is tasked with recruiting, training and field command of the new team, who's first outing goes badly, as they track down a mysterious Secret Society that Green Arrow was able to infiltrate for about 5 minutes. The presence of Dr Ivo for old-timers will naturally suggest androids and/or robots are going to be involved, and the apparent appearance of members of the big Justice League in the opening scenes will no doubt only confirm suspicions. However, the real mystery about this `Secret Society of Supervillains', is who is behind it, and what it is really up to. Old Timers once more will think that the front-man is very familiar, and his references to Batman will only add to the suspicion (though the Martian Manhunter back-ups also reprinted in this collection might offer an alternate theory).Anyway, this is an excellent introductory story, with great scripting and artwork, and it is fairly obvious that this comic is likely to be interwoven with the big Justice League as we move forward, aside from the big Justice League / Dark / America crossover that is the Trinity War, chapters 2 and 4 of which are includes from issues #6 and #7 of this title. The story in those two issues can be followed, but you'll need to read the other episodes or Justice League Trinity War HC (The New 52) , in order to maintain full continuity. There are several back-up stories also reprinted, featuring the Martian Manhunter, which give an insight into his origin and motivations, as well as a bit more about the behind-the-scenes origin of the JLA.This is an excellent package, as you would expect from this creative team.

I love, love, love the Leaguers
Pounding heart. Palpitations. Justice League, what is happening? Where is Booster? How many Justice Leagues will there be? Will even one be left standing? My mind is racing after reading this volume and I. Can't. Wait. For. Trinity War. I pre-ordered it ages ago!! There are so many superheroes involved in this book that it is just too many to even remember who is supposed to be part of the new JLA. The first line-up gets changed once and at the end we don't know where they stand. Just like all the other JLs at this point! Shazam is even here. He was on the reserve list from Justice League, Vol. 3 and he's still hanging around and wants to go home but is told he'd better stay around until things get sorted out. The scenes with various JL's going up against each other are truly epic! And now we have a Secret Society of super villains. Catwoman which team is she on? Amanda Waller where does her loyalty lie? The answers will psyche you out!! OK, now just some rambling. Lots of new people here for me. I love Vibe!! What can I say ... I thought he'd be lame but I love him. We get to know a lot about Green Arrow actually, even though this volume is not much about the characters as it's so intense on the action. I haven't liked his appearances so far in the JL books but I'm willing to look into him now and may try out his series. Martian Manhunter is given quite a bit of character development too and I think that's because he's being seen as the "leader" of JLA. I loved the slightly different twist on his background story than pre-52 and I've always liked him as a character. None of the other new superheroes was given enough exposure to get to know them yet so am reserving judgement. Yet I can say I love, love, love the Leaguers and their universe!!
