Smart, bookish Belle, a captive in the Beast's castle, has become accustomed to her new home and has befriended its inhabitants. When she comes upon Nevermore , an enchanted book unlike anything else she has seen in the castle, Belle finds herself pulled into its pages and transported to a world of glamour and intrigue. The adventures Belle has always imagined, the dreams she was forced to give up when she became a prisoner, seem within reach again. The charming and mysterious characters Belle meets within the pages of Nevermore offer her glamorous conversation, a life of dazzling Parisian luxury, and even a reunion she never thought possible. Here Belle can have everything she ever wished for. But what about her friends in the Beast's castle? Can Belle trust her new companions inside the pages of Nevermore ? Is Nevermore 's world even real? Belle must uncover the truth about the book, before she loses herself in it forever. Review: Perfect for any Beauty and the Beast fan - This book is kind of like a behind the scenes of Belle's life in the enchanted castle. It has all of the original characters with some new ones along the way too. It has parts from both the 1991 and 2017 movies, which makes it so much more enjoyable. I bought this book because Beauty and the Beast is my favourite Disney movie, I was so excited to read it and I was not disappointed. The way it was written had me hooked, it has short chapters and makes you want to keep turning the pages to see what happens next. Whilst reading this book I laughed, cried and at times I felt scared for Belle, which shows that Jennifer Donnelly writes in a way that really connects with her readers. It's lovely to have a more in-depth look into what life would have been like for Belle and all the other characters. I would recommend that everyone who enjoyed the movies read this book, to be honest I think everyone should read it because it's just that good. Review: Love - Very much enjoyed this book... interesting tale set during the time of movie. It's quite exciting and gets creepy. ..but has lots castle character time too which was one of the best things. Love the cover

Jennifer has done the original story proud with this wonderful piece of art...
This book was such a fairytale, and it felt like I could be reading the original Beauty and the Beast. Jennifer made the characters and the story her own; so much so that it could have been her that created it all. Jennifer managed to get all the characters from Disney's Beauty and the Beast perfectly accurate - I could hear their voices and picture them so easily. The story was also a brilliant one; it was well written, well thought out and incredibly interesting. Despite knowing, as the reader, that Belle shouldn't get lost in the book, the writing of Madame Comtesse was so convincing that part of me wanted her to stay. I feel like this book was a welcomed extension of the original tale, and part of me wishes we could have it as a Disney animated film as well! Jennifer has done the original story proud with this wonderful piece of art.

This is one of the best books I have read in a while
This is one of the best books I have read in a while. It grips you at page one and itโs one of those books that you can almost see the characters and their expressions. The whole family has read it including my 9yr old and 15 yr old and we all loved it. I highly recommend this book to all Disney fans of all ages.

So good!!!
๐ So I just finished reading Lost in a Book, and it was so good! ๐ It's definitely a great story for all Beauty and the Beast fans. You almost feel like you're being part of the story together with Belle while reading it. The concept that Belle's going inside a magical book once in a while and befriending its characters and living a wonderful life is brilliant. But she also learns that even if life is difficult sometimes, you must always live your life and write your own story. It's a great message, and the book also shows you that life isn't always greener on the other side. And that love always wins. They also gave it a bit of fantasy flair since Love and Death are involved as well, but it still feels like a fairytale. It also does a great job keeping you connected to the movie with small details such as Belle remembering stuff from her old life and keeping the characters in the castle present. Again, Belle is going a little bit back and forth to the book, so you feel somewhat grounded to the story's reality. And also the first like 50 pages does kinda introduce you to the story before the part with her finding the book actually starts; it helps you getting into the timeline that the story take place and you kinda gets to understand what's going on in Belle's head at that time. And since this book was written for the 2017 live action version of Beauty and the Beast, it definitely has a bit of that attitude to it, but at the same time it feels like the author wanted to pay some tribute to the original, because the library scene here defenitely feels more like the animated version, which I appreciate. Overall, I had a great experience reading this book. I always love when they make stories with Beauty and the Beast that take place during that time in the movie when they're getting to know each other. It's always interesting to watch, or in this case, read, and I think the author managed to create a very interesting and charming story. A magical Disney story to keep the middle grade reader engaged, but even adults, of course. Highly recommend! ๐ฅ

Very light, fun read
Very light, fun read. The book cover is beautifully done. The story actually does the original story justice! Belle learns that LOVE not DEATH will win when she encounters "Nevermore".

Recommend this book.
Making way through this book, and I recommend it. It's a different tale within the world of 'Beauty and the Beast' and the fact that you get lost in the book while reading about Belle getting lost in a book is a funny to realise indeed.
