Adorable Houseplants to Crochet (Dover Crafts: Crochet)

This is a good beginners guide to crochet the cutest little plants. It is easy to follow the instructions if you know your basic crochet techniques.

I love to crochet. I love plants (but maybe I kill them). I would rate this book as a beginner +. What I didn’t know before buying is: the patterns recommend small hooks…1.5mm-2.5mm…so you’ll need yarn to accommodate. Of course this is the “suggestion,” but live your life and use what you want! I would not use beginner yarn like the “Easy Peasy” yarn by The Woobles, but also not cheap acrylic that splits easily. Super cute, easily can make the cacti amigurmi like by adding eyes and smile and such. Also, the eucalyptus on the ring and the drumstick flowers are beautiful and I think would be great, minimalist decor in a guest bedroom/bathroom…or wherever you want to show your amazing skills!

I’m new and with a little trial and error I was able to start some of these plants. Finding that many authors write patterns differently. Working in fishbone cactus. All the way to small leaves and there is an error in the pattern. A parenthesis is missing and when I add the stitches there are way more stitches than 46 or 45. I think a line got added. I’m pretty far Into the process so I’m a bit irritated.

This was a gift for a succulent lover who also likes to crochet. She absolutely loved it.

I find the patterns a bit confusing. Could be me, but I don't typically have a hard time with written patterns.

The crochet book is packed full of patterns, easy to read, adorable plants to crochet.

So so instructions do not include any images or drawings.
