I have some other astronomy oriented SVBONY products, most of which has been quite good for its price. I took a chance and bought based on some really good reviews of these done by optics experts. These are really high optical quality, equal to nikon binocs that go for twice the price. I have tried these for astronomy to check the optics and they are sharp with pinpoint stars. They are good for birding and wildlife viewing - I like the feel of them and the feel of the focus knob. One of the crazy things about nikons is the lens caps do not attach to the binocs and (at least for me) would be soon lost. So add another $20-30 to the nikons plus the hassle of of trying to find good lens caps that fit.... SVBONY provides flip down front caps, and a rear cap that can be attached to the binocular strap. Thanks SVBONY. The only place these come up short is the case they come with - decent quality - but just too small. Plan on replacing it. I bought the "Proven Wild" bino case and harness ($25) which fits the binocs and fits me perfectly (incredible deal). So if you are thinking of buying nikons or vortex in the $150-200 price point, check these out first.

I was surprised that these binoculars had much more chromatic aberration, even close to the center of the FOV, than either our 40-year old 7x26 Bushnell Custom Compact binoculars OR a probably 30 year old pair of Tasco 101 7-15x35 binoculars for which I paid very little. On the other hand SVBONY service has been excellent. I returned the 10x50s 13 days ago and I hope to get a refund very soon. Sorry these binoculars did not meet my expectations.

The built quality was good. It is slightly less than 1000g. I really want to like it but the CA at the high contrast edges were unbearable to me. There is an excessive red that was very visible. When used for bird watching the red outline is so distracting I thought my eyes were bad so I attached my phone and took a photo to be sure it was not me. The ca is throughout the center and not just at the edge. It was worst than the cheaper Pentax WP. I asked for a replacement and it was the same so it was not just my copy that was bad. Returned it.
