## Description

From the manufacturer

Review: Lightweight and sounds lovely! - Bought this with a view to busking in the summer, so it’s not had a trial run outside as yet but it’s light and sounds lovely. I bought the carry case with it which is great. I busk as part of a duet with two vocals, acoustic guitar and keyboard so I was worried that there wouldn’t be enough inputs to accommodate. I’ve found that it can be achieved by using one vocal into the first XLR input as normal then using a splitter cable with XLR to jack for the second vocal and standard jack cable for the guitar. The keys work from the line in. The downside is it negates the guitar effects (unless you want a bit of delay on the guitar and vocal - not chorus obvs) but there’s still reverb which is good enough for a busk. I have a mixer which can be run from the Street Ex to create more channels if I’m to use it for a small gig etc.
Review: A really good quality amp for busking and small venues. - The amp is reasonably light and ideal for busking and small venues. 50w of power via the power cable or via 8 rechargeable batteries. Quite a long performance life using the batteries and there are 3 settings to enable battery saving. The best thing is not having to use a built in rechargeable battery (which always end up giving you problems) but simply using 8 ordinary AA rechargeable batteries. Sound quality is formidable with EQ settings on the two main XLR/Jack plug inputs and reverb. The instrument input has a selection of good effects for guitar, including chorus which is really nice. Very pleased with this item so far. it can also be mounted on a speaker stand via the slot on one end of the cabinet. Way, way better than the cheaper alternatives.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do backing tracks sound loud with the roland street cube ex?? i busk on the busy streets of london and need something loud!**
A: Yes I’ve been using one for 2 1/2 years busking and gigging and never had a problem with getting a good volume

**Q: Any good for electric guitar???**
A: I use it with an electrified acoustic Ortega guitar and I consider it to be very effective in volume and sound quality for my guitar and vocals. I play traditional folk and my own compositions including protest songs!
I heard a Cube being used in Lincoln by a good lead guitarist in the street and it sounded great. It is really the only option for street performance as you can run it on batteries if a mains supply is unavailable. Good settings options and reverb. works well. So it suits me well and sounds good to me with an electric playing lead in the street. Best of luck!

**Q: How does a keyboard sound through this amp?**
A: Yes it’s very good for keyboards/piano, especially when using the stereo channels, there’s more headroom when on the mains, the battery use is convenient, but you lose a bit of tone and head room running on batteries. Adam

**Q: The main reason why i want to connect this to my tv is when where doing karaoke through you tube and can i used this as a cinema speaker**
A: Yes--you can have a mic input to the Roland and a Line In input from the TV, as long as the TV has an audio out, which you can connect to 1 or 2 1/4" jacks (depending on whether you want mono or stereo signal from the TV to the Roland. Should work great.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing powerful Sound, Lightweight & excellent Endurance
*by P***R on 18 November 2019*

Amazing unit for use as a guitar playing vocalist. The sound is both rich and huge. Battery life seems to be very acceptable- used for about 4 hours already on mid power level and still more than half life left in rechargeable batteries. I would recommend that a spare battery case is purchased so that if being used for a gig, it would be a simple and quick operation to swap over battery packs ( two finger screws) rather than fiddling about trying to insert new cells in the existing pack. I bought a couple of spare packs online from a music store. The only complaint I have is that when using an external music source (backing tracks) such as iPod etc using the dedicated input, the sound from this input is rather thin and tinny ( no EQ available). I am currently exploring the use of a separate battery powered EQ unit to solve this. For info, the microphone used for my testing was Shure SM58 with soprano vocalist. Guitars used have all been acoustic electric and include Taylor 814ce, Tanglewood TW4 KOA and Walden T550CE. All sound fantastic with crisp highs, warm mid range and rich powerful bass. So far so good. More to follow as usage experiences build. Please note that the supplied photos are taken of the unit housed within the optional case which is subject to separate purchase.
