    A great first addition!

Bought this for my son and I to start our LEGO city & I am thoroughly impressed. The build time took a little longer than expected but this is probably more down to a very excited four year old rather than the complexity of the set itself. The track is a good size for a starting point, the siding is a great play addition. The train itself is very sturdy and well built. It’s bigger than I was expecting and can survive the occasional derail. The Log cart is a neat carriage and the overall finished build is very good. Not a great deal of playability. The transport cart is one of two carriages with advanced playability. The bank vault and snow mobile container work perfectly with the included fork lift. The fork lift is an amazing feature with working lift thanks to a clever use of a rubber band. The control tower is a worthy inclusion and only enhanced the playability factor. My son loves it.Connecting the train is easy and straightforward, you can also change the color of the LED to match the train so if you add more trains (like I am already planning) you can easily identify which is which. If you do you will need to remember additional controllers / hubs.Overall, I would recommend this set to anyone who is looking to start of into the world of LEGO trains or starting a city, or even those considering expansion.
