Excellent series. Really funny

This series is amazing! Well the dvds that I can get to work, almost an entire season of dvds was loose in the box scratched to h3ll, as a result most of those discs don't work properly. Contacted Amazon who are ignoring me, great prime service isn't it???? Anyway friends Dorothy (Bea Arthur) Rose (Betty White) and Blanche (Rue McClanahan) and Dorothy's mother Sophia all live in Blanche's house in Florida, there's a lot of love between these amazing women, they're the best of friends, hilarious and always there for each other. A truly amazing series, it began the year I was born but I'm so glad I decided to watch it!! Highly recommend.

Absolutely adore these 4 women and couldn't wait to get this collection as you can see in the photos i shared it's in one big box set rather than 4 boxes the discs inside were floating around but still in great condition, the picture and sound quality is really great but take note it's not in 1.33:1 aspect ratio as said on the box its stretched to the entire screen at least a 1.78 or 1.85 which does look stretched but still watchable, every fan will love this collection.

The acting, the characterisation, the scripts and the humour still hit the mark, several decades after first showing. Timeless, quality comedy that can bring joy to any day!There are many superfluous discs inside the box set. They only seem to contain adverts as content. It took some time to weed those out and dispose of them so that my mother would be able to watch her favorite housemates without any unnecessary red herrings.

Great value boxset of the 1st 4 seasons. Brilliant viewing, very good quality entertainment. Love Betty White, Bea Arthur and Estelle Getty in this. A must have for any fan of the shows.

I had forgotten how funny and groundbreaking the girls were. They really championed older people and tackled issues which were hot topics of the time and still have resonance today, women’s rights, gay issues, race relations and the still very much under tackled issue of older people, relationships and sex. With the value of hindsight in revisiting this gem, one can see the seeds being so for what became common place in comedy and drama and which we take as the norm now. Female characters forming the lead basis for show and while the comedy is important, so is the pathos, drama and integrity of the societal message. The only sadness in finding them again is knowing that Bea, Rue and Estelle are gone now and Betty is her 90s. Thank you Girls, you're amazing!
