The first few nights I slept well, as did my husband. Then I started to have problems with it being itchy and uncomfortable. I contacted STR who was quick to make suggestions (such as washing it--YUK, I can't believe I didn't think to do that.) That helped a bit, but as time went on, I realized that (1) as the weather became warmer, this became more uncomfortable (we keep our thermostat pretty low in winter and high in summer), (2) I appear to be straining against this device in my sleep. My jaw has started to ache in the morning. It takes several hours to feel better; I did check with my dentist to makes sure the ache wasn't a dental issue. I've tried adjusting the velcro, but if too loose, it doesn't do it's job. I'm going to try a tongue stabilizer device instead to see how that works.Overall, STR was great in responding to my questions, and the strap worked well initially--I was taking medication for another condition that makes me sleep so that might account for the lack of resistance on my part at night. This is one of those things where you just have to try it to see if it will work for you. For me, it didn't. I used this for about two months.

So apparently I snore like a bear mowing the lawn. I have tried nasal dilators, nose strips, sprays, Nettie pot, pretty much anything and everything short of duct tape which may be my next option, hey I'd only snore once after that.At the suggestion of mom (she snores too) to try a chin strap and much research I decided to give it a go. I purchased this product for the price and design mainly as I do not like anything with thin straps on my head, they tend to slip off to easy.Let me just say the eye mask it comes with is AMAZING, comfortable, and lightweight. The eye contours are perfect so you can still open your eyes, see black and not wake up puffy eyed. I personally do not like not being able to open my eyes as with other masks.The chin strap itself DOES keep your mouth from opening so long as you actually make it tight otherwise why are you buying one. A well-made product and easy to use. Although, it’s hard to tell whether or not it totally eliminated my snoring as I was sleeping and for once in a very long time did not wake up with dry mouth and sore throat.I did have some questions when first purchasing this product and let me tell you from working for a Customer Support team for the past 11yrs. This company truly has the best Customer Service of any CS Team I have ever worked with, be it cell phone companies, cable, utilities you name it.Cannot wait to see what other products this company comes up with.

It had to be washed twice to remove the chemical smell from it. I had it washed in the machine and then soaked it in the sink with a lot of soap and then dried it in the sun. The chemical smell was so strong out of the packaging my partner couldn't wear it.However - it does work! I had been using a snore app called snore lab and so what the chin strap did is eliminate all the mega-loud snoring that was waking me up. There's still snoring, but much lighter now, and I'm sleeping better. My partner feels comfortable wearing it at night.We also tried those silicone nasal things to open the nasal passages, and even the smallest size was uncomfortable for him. We're happy with the product, I just wish the manufacturer could do something about removing that smell before it reaches the consumer.

**** UPDATE 5/26/2018This thing is literally coming apart at the seams. It's made of a neoprene like material so doesn't breath so it has started to develop an odor. I'm probably just going to pitch this in the garbage because I suspect that it's not going to hold up to a washing.Get something else.It works. It takes some getting used to but once it's adjusted it's OK.=======ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW=========Do yourself a favor and turn it inside out to wear it. They have it designed where the hook part of the velcro points toward the body and it is ridiculously uncomfortable. Turning it inside out has helped but it's still a design flaw that someone should address.The ear holes, while large, don't quite sit right for my ears no matter how I adjust it. If I adjust it so the top of the holes aren't resting on my ears it loses tension and won't keep my mouth closed.I'm not sure why this one is "Amazon's Choice". I'd probably choose differently if I had it to do all over again and I'll probably go with a different product if/when this one wears out or fails.

Thought this looked like an improvement over the simple strap I was sent by my doctor. I liked the fact that it was one strap, rather than two. Pictures looked good, there were decent reviews, so I got it.Once I tried it on, i was immediately disappointed. The earholes ended up too low, so the strap pulled down my ears. Not comfortable. In theory, you could pull that tight and velcro it snug, but that would not be comfortable to sleep in, not to mention you would always end up with a headache. The velcro closures had rough edges, and were exposed when fastened. This meant it scratched the back of my neck every time I moved even the slightest bit. Not really conducive to sleeping. I am assuming all of these items are due to the fact this was designed for a smaller head.The last item was the smell - this was immediately noticeable once removed from the box, and the plastic bag it was in, inside the box. Putting this on your head only makes it more obvious. I suppose it is possible that this could go away in time, but it probably should be made with something less nasty to begin with.The simple strap I got from my doctor was stretchy, not scratchy, and not smelly. So I know it is possible to get a chin strap that can be relatively comfortable and not stinky. This one, however, was not good for me. I am returning it.
