Great, cheap gator!
My fiancé and I planned a hike up Mount St Helens but realized last minute we needed gators because of the lava rock and scree on the mountain. Good quality gators are $60+ and we didn't want to spend that much for one hike. I found these online but was worried about the quality because the price was so low. But I bought them anyway and they ended up being perfect for what I needed! They kept scree and dust out of my hiking boots and held up on the rough terrain. I am so happy I got these, it saved me from stopping every 5 minutes to dump rocks from my boots. Some people have complained that the strings are too long, which I agree they are, but they're easy to tuck away or tie out of the way. For the price, they're awesome.

Work great for protecting your shins from dirt!
I use these gaiters in FL when I am edging and mowing my lawn. I wear shorts because it's so hot and hate pants in the heat. Plus, the gas edger I have flicks dirt and mud on to my shins and socks making them a mess. I put these on before mowing and edging and hardly get any dirt on my socks, just a tiny bit on my knees. Then I just wash them in the washer and air dry them afterwards. They protect my shins and keep me clean. They are awesome and easy to put on. They fit great, work great and are a great deal.

Good Gaiters
Work very well. They seemed a bit thin, but have worked very well and held up well.

poor quality and little or no warranty
The third time I wore these gators the rivets fell out of the metal clip which holds the front down to the boot laces. I logged on to Amazon to contact seller and possibly return these for a replacement and discovered there is only a 30 day return policy on this product. I didn't take them out of the package for the first three weeks and even if I did there's no way of knowing by looking at them that they would fall apart so soon. Fortunately they are not very expensive so I suppose "you get what you pay for". I had a similar pair I bought about 4 years ago, paid even less, but the Velcro finally wore out which is understandable. At least they lasted a few years, not just a few days. DON'T BUY THESE!

Too small, need snaps in addition to velcro like most gaiters have.
Slightly too small to fit on men's boots. Should make multiple sizes. Should put snaps at the top and bottom ends of velcro because the velcro alone pulls apart too easily. I like that they're shorter than most leg gaiters, for hot weather to keep debris out of boots.

Does exactly what I wanted it to do
Whenever I am working in tall vegetation I protect myself from ticks by tucking my pants into my socks. The downside of this is that seeds stick to my socks and it is annoying and time-consuming to remove the seeds. These gaiters have solved that problem. I still tuck my pants into my socks, but now that I'm using these gaiters to cover them I don't have to deal with seed-covered socks! These gaiters are easy to put on and they are comfortable to wear. Just wrap them around your ankles, press the velcro together, and adjust the top with the adjustable cord (you'll only have to adjust the cord once). There's a metal hook in the front that attaches to shoelaces, and another adjustable cord that gets placed underneath your boots/shoes. Proper placement of the cord in front of the heel of the boot/shoe should prevent the cord from contacting the ground and wearing out, however if it does wear out it will be very easy to replace. Theses gaiters are made out of water-resistant ripstop nylon material that is sturdy but lightweight, which is great for hot weather. If you are a woman or a man who is looking for gaiters that are not too big and not too bulky, get these! You won't be disappointed!

Depends on your intended use, I guess.
I have an older set of gaiters I use for snowshoeing & I ordered these as a backup pair. My old pair come to mid-calf, and I was disappointed that these barely come to the tops of my boots. If your intention is to just keep debris/snow out of the tops of regular shoes, these are for you. If you want ones for snowshoeing or walking in deeper snow to keep your pants legs inside them so they don't get full of snow, these are inadequate. The picture makes them look taller than they are.

Dry feet!
Took these on a few slushy hikes in CO. They were easy to put on, and did a better job than I expected honestly. My feet and ankles stayed warm & dry. Layered them inside my snow pants and that worked well. Great value purchase. They would not do well for deep snow, as they are shorter.

These have a string that goes under the shoe to keep them down and it's the only thing I don't like about these gators. I don't know what it is when I hike but I consistently ended up with stand, tiny stones and other things in my hiking boots even though I ware hiking boots that are over the ankle. Wearing the gators has stopped that and improved my hiking experience immensely. That being said the only time I've had an issue is when I got momentarily distracted looking at the lace from the gators under the shoe realizing that the bow I had tied had come out from where I had tucked it up and was loose and I slipped and fell (no fault of the gator just distracted). I have now removed that and used E9000 to attach velcro to my hiking boot and the gator and it has made these the perfect addition for hiking. they also came with a nice carrying bag.

Good material but becomes loose after an hour of walking around. You need to take time to keep securing it.

Look how much mud Didn't get onto my boots or the back of my pants! They seem to be at least water resistant, haven't used them in heavy rain or a long period in snow yet. These are super easy to get off & on. They don't slide down my leg & are light weight enough to wear in summer to stop pebbles & bits & pieces getting into my boot or hiking shoes! Have worn them snow shoeing as well. They fold up into a tiny carry bag, incredble. My new favourite outdoor accessory. I think they will wash up like a dream. I will likely even wear them when turning over the garden to keep dirt out of my gardening low cut shoes. Definitely would buy these again.
