It is a very good book. However, I would like to have some more info on the periphereals, namely the remote central lock andanti theft system.

If you have an E34 BMW, you need this book. It was one of the most expensive books I have ever bought, but well worth it. The level of detail is outstanding.

This Bentley Manual for BMW 5 series E34 1989 to 1995 is almost indispensable. Bear in mind that it is meant for the USA and needs a bit of interpreting (guesswork) for the UK market and it is applicable to E34s from 1988 here. It is so much more thorough than the usable but limited alternative 3- & 5-Series Haynes Manual which covers the E34 as a sideline amongst a much wider age and model spread. It is two and a half times thicker too if you were wondering why it can be up to two and half times the price! If you want finer detail and are going deeper than routine brake pad and disc changes, wheel bearings and plugs etc then it could well save you tears.
