OXO Good Grips Julienne Peeler

This is the best one I have had to date. Does the job it is supposed to do. The blades doesn't get stuck. It is easy to clean. And it has a safe guard for when not in use.

This julienne peeler, as someone else said, will take a chunk out of the unwary... Ask me how I know!!! I have made courgette 'pasta' with this and it works perfectly. You cannot julienne the whole vegetable so there will be some waste (but you could freeze all the bits until you have enough for soup) but it really does work well. I did consider one of the vegetable spiralisers/spirooli but they take up a lot of space which I simply do not have in my kitchen so this little gadget is handy. A little awkward to hold without cutting yourself as you pull it down the vegetable but if you lay the veg down on a board to use it, it is safer! Cuts through courgette with ease, I haven't tried with carrots yet but am sure it will be fine. It does come with a plastic sheath to cover the sharp parts whilst in the drawer. I think my kids will love their veggies even more when they are cut into noodles!

I, along with may of my peers, have gone on a major health kick as a result of overindulgence at Christmas and after 2 weeks of nothing but steamed vegetables I was completely bored. I've read lots of reviews about vegetable spaghetti and thought id give it a try. There are lots of cheap julienne peelers out there but I thought I'd splash out a bit more and get one that looked sturdy. When it arrived I was pleased to see that there is a safety guard on the blade as it is very sharp. I won't lie it took me a while to get the hang of it as it is a slightly different motion to using a normal Y peeler but I was very pleased with the results. I have used this on carrot and courgette and it works just as well with either. The only downside is when you get to the end of the vegetable you get a little chunk left over that gets scrapped unless you chop it up manually but it is a small price to pay for having perfect ribbons of veg! I haven't yet attempted any other veggies but I have been recommended I try sweet potato so looking forward to that. I highly recommend this product for its easy of use, comfort of handling and great results.

I have been looking for what seems like a lifetime for a spiralizer for carrots, courgettes etc. I've tried a few and they have been nothing short of useless. I came upon this by chance and suffice to say that I was very sceptical especially considering the price. However I have the best OXO potato peeler ever so I remained optimistic. I have just used it today and to start with my heart sank as it seemed to be like a potato peeler. It took me a few minutes to get to grips with it and apply the necessary pressure and to understand that the ribbons need to be gently pulled apart which is definitely no big deal. I cannot endorse this product enough. Great for stir fries, salads, the list is endless. My beauty of the day will be the courgettes cooked in the air fryer. I love the safety shield and to date have no issues with hazards. It's like any other sharp implement. Caution is needed.

brilliant for courgetti. I am doing Keto and so am replacing spaghetti with courgetti and also using various other vegetables. This was cheaper than a spiralizer and requires much less space. Worked equally as good in courgette as it did in carrot. I took not of previous reviews and was extremely careful as it is super sharp. You also don’t need to apply a lot of pressure as it is SUPER SHARP ( watch those fingers.

Bought this to help speed up my Japanese food preparations because I didn't want a big clunky mandolin to store. I like it, with some reservations. It certainly does work and makes nice even julienne strips. So far I've used it on carrots and have been pleased with the results. The grip is comfortable as with all of the Oxo products and it is easy to clean. Now for the reservations. As others have mentioned, it can be a bit vicious if you aren't being careful. I pricked my thumb with it a couple of times before I figured out how to use it with the veg lying on the cutting board held down with a fork. As others have mentioned the design means that the strips are usually attached at the top so you'll need to cut that away. I don't mind it because I just save those bits for a snack or add them to soups, rice or anything else. The julienner does come with a safety guard which can be used while in storage, but not when you are using it. As I say, it works and I'm pleased with the results, but you do need to use it with caution. It has helped speed some prep, but not as much as I'd hoped. 3.5 stars from me. Like all of the Oxo "Good Grips" range this fits the hand nicely and is comfortable to use. By the very nature of this sort of peeler there's quite a bit of the vegetable that you can't cut safely (I use it mostly on courgettes and carrots) but the results are very good and it's a lot less fiddly and dangerous to use than a mandoline. There's a flip-down cover to protect you from the blade while the peeler's in storage. This isn't a great fit and has popped off a couple of times but is easy to refit. Overall recommended.

I bought this to replace one we had , a different design, for over 25 years. It works very well to make julienne strips which I cut crossways to toss over a salad. One tip - put the vegetable down on a chopping board and run the peeler over it - do not try to hold the vegetable in one hand while running the peeler along it, as shown on the Amazon page. This peeler is sharp and you could cut yourself if not careful. It has a clear, flip-top safety cover to protect the blade, always use it while storing the peeler in a drawer.

J’avais auparavant un éplucheur en plastique et franchement, et celui-ci n’a rien à voir 😅. Il est vraiment de très bonne qualité et épluche très bien. Comme souvent avec les produits OXO, la prise en main est très agréable : le manche est assez épais, ce qui permet de bien le tenir et de l’utiliser facilement. Très contente de cet achat, il est solide et agréable à utiliser au quotidien.
