I wouldn't use anything else
Many years ago I discovered the joy of natural bristle toothbrushes. They are so much kinder to your gums than synthetic bristles. You used to be able to buy them made by the likes of Addis and others in many High Street chemist shops but they disappeared. Then I happened to see a few very expensive Kent hand made "Classic" natural bristle toothbrushes substantially reduced in price at a local chemist who obviously could not sell them at the rrp (current price direct from Kent is ยฃ18 each !!) and I bought them. They were superbly comfortable and lasted well. However I couldn't justify the cost of replacing them when they eventually wore out. I therefore decided to try these. I was hesitant because they are described as "extra soft" and I would normally buy hard, but I love them. They are beautifully made, last well and do not shed bristles. But most of all, they are so kind to your gums and a pleasure to use. If I were ever invited on to Desert Island Discs, a lifetime supply of these would be my luxury item. Not cheap but worth every penny.

Loose bristles come off while brushing!!
Pros : super soft, ideal for brushing gum. Cons: The bristles come lose in mouth while brushing under low / moderate pressure. This is highly irritating.

Naturally Good
I remember my dentist years ago advising badger hair toothbrush for my sensitive gums. I have been having problems recently and decided to get these. These are now like hens teeth so I was pleased to find them. They are brilliant. We never seem to manage to make our artificial products as good as the real thing. Not so sure about the plastic handle though. I have been trying to minimise plastic use and use more natural products where possible.

it lost its shape after the first use and now looks like I have been using it for years
The bristles come out and get in your mouth while you are brushing your teeth. Also, it lost its shape after the first use and now looks like I have been using it for years. Would never buy again

Good - kind of....
I got this brush as (a) I have really sensitive gums and (b)I was really intreged by the idea of a natural hair toothbrush First thing to note is that this is an expertly made product and the quality is very obvious, but it IS badger hair, so for the first couple of brushes, expect to have a couple of hairs come off and to notice a very slight 'natural' smell from the brush! The brush is definitely much more gentle on the gums than a synthetic brush, but it feels SO different to using a plastic bristle brush that it does take some getting used to. I have to admit that although I know I am cleaning properly, it sometimes doesn't feel like it. If you're troubled with painful brushing, do get this and give it a go, but also do check in with your dentist after a wee while using it to make sure that you are still getting an effective clean from the brush as it is so gentle, that it's tempting not to apply enough pressure while brushing. The other thing to note is that this is a fantastic price for such a high quality product!

Very disappointed, not the great quality it used to be
I have been using these for many years, but the last one I bought loses itโs bristles every time I brush my teeth. It is ghastly to have hairs stuck on the back of my tongue and makes me want to vomit. Very disappointed, not the great quality it used to be.

Quirky, and really soft, but plastic is still better
This thing is weird. First, it's very full and wide, so it does fill your mouth quite a bit. As someone with quite sensitive gums, I'd bought this one and a few synthetic toothbrushes, and I have to say I prefer the other ones. Please be aware, the Badger Bristle toothbrush while sounds quirky and kind of cool, does in fact taste like chewing on a piece of fur, and there will be bristles falling out here and there. So unless you're going for an experience that perhaps only the medieval royalty could have bragged about, check out some plastic alternatives.

Good quality
Excellent toothbrush for sensitive gums (at least). You can rub with this one as much as you feel comfortable. It is hard to damage your gums. Nothing beats this on in connection with a good toothpaste.

Do Not Buy, Safety Hazard, "loose stiff pointy" Bristles down your throat !
Do Not Buy, Safety Hazard ! the Bristles are loose and stiff and pointy, they stick to my throat for 24 hours, coughing all night long trying to get them out, and at last it ended up going down my throat instead of going in my wind pipe! such a horrible experience

Badger Brush
The toothbrush was fine and very gentle on the gums, though it is larger than the average brush and so is a bit hard to handle and direct. it was also extremely slow to arrive, though it had to come from Britain to Canada.
