Well, bummer. Was really hoping for what was presented. It slowly bounces between four stages of light, kinda light, maybe light and no light. It looks NOTHING like flame. I would not recommend this product.

UPDATED REVIEW: Initially I thought the bulb did not work. It arrived without any instructions, I plugged it in, and it just was an orange light. Vendor replied to my complaint with the instructions; to change modes the bulb has to be turned off and on. Once I did that, it did simulate flame and looked nice. It is a better price than others out there, however, it doesn't get a perfect rating because of the lack of instructions. If I hadn't complained, I would have never known how to make it work and would have probably thrown it away.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  These lights worked great for me. Many complaints about shipping time but I live in Arizona and got them in exactly 2 weeks. I was worried about the quality after reading reviews here also but most people probably are not reading the instructions ON THE PACKAGE. Plug them in, then turn them on. Switch the mode by turning off the light switch once for flicker, repeat the step again for solid amber, and once more for slow fade. The flame looks good, not digital and distorted, I honestly can't imagine the $15 bulbs looking much better when its trying to imitate a real flame... I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to poor packaging. These bulbs came in a shipping BAG instead of a box to protect them. I ordered5 bulbs, they come in thin mini paper boxes, 3 of the 5 boxes where crumbled and just rolling around. Amazing they where not crushed since I ordered in December and they probably travelled over seas. Its a risk, I can't imagine a return and refund policy being very quick or worth the effort. But i can't deny the price, so I will cautiously order 1 more time and hope to get lucky that they all work again...

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  This is great! Looks like a soft fire! Arrived quick enough...meant for an upright lamp rather than ceiling...but the glow is like that if a torch.

It will work in either upright or downward position. I see many say it’s solid light. Turn it on and let it warm up, then shut it off and turn it on again and it’s perfect.

I really like these bulbs except for one thing. The multiple-mode "feature" is stupid and highly annoying. I bought these for the flickering flame effect, which they do very well. But every other time you turn them on they light up steady yellow (no flickering). If I wanted plain yellow lights I would have bought plain yellow lights. I want them to flicker every time I turn them on. Unfortunately almost all of the brands have this annoying "feature". Overall, love the bulbs though.

Don’t flicker every time unless you keep turning on/off or the said shake them. That would be terrible inside lanterns, I shook them before trying.Sporadic flicker, my lantern were outdoor with electric eye start at dusk. I’d have to take flashlight out to turn off, comes on flickering fine, otherwise-repeat!

For what I paid, this thing is awesome. I don't know what these other people are doing wrong, but mine works great!Sure, it doesn't exactly look like a flame close up, but from a distance, it's pretty cool. And yes, my shipping was delayed too, but it was cheap, so I was OK w/ that.just ordered another today.
