Good product, nice and tough. Just for people reading the reviews the person that said it’s not height adjustable on the off side of the track is totally wrong. It comes with a thumbscrew and two plastic clips that are height adjustable. Also there are screws on the underside so that you can make a snug fit on your track. Ok a micro adjuster would be really useful but it’s well designed and the plastic parts are super tough. I don’t think you want want the plastic parts to be metal anyway when running on an aluminium track anyway. Decent jig.

I got this as I had a project to do that involved routing a load of grooves across sheet material. For anything like this previously I had just butted the router up against a straight edge, generally the back side of a saw track. That's all fine and good but you have to be very careful to either not push too hard so as to move the track or not push hard enough and the router goes walkabout and you get a squint cut. This thing solves all those issues. I have a Makita DRT50 (the cordless trim router + plunge base) and it is easy to set up with that. Uses the smaller sized rods, the larger rods and spacing I think would work with most larger plunge router bases. I use it in combination with my track and parallel guides to position each cut. Using the parallel guides is a great hack that I saw someone do online. You have two options, either butt the cutter up (or a hair shy) of the splinter guard and use your parallel guides in the same way you would for a plunge saw, or keep the cutter a little bit shy of the splinter guard (to avoid any risk of shaving a bit off it) and either account for the offset in the measurement or re-calibrate the parallel guides to reference off the router cutter. Doing that you can work very quickly and don't even have to mark and measure. Item itself is a fairly basic bit of plastic with metal rods. Only thing I don't really like about it is the mechanism for tightening it to the track to remove any lateral play. I say mechanism but its just a screw that bends a bit of plastic so that it grips the profile on the track. It does the job just fine, but not sure how this system would stand up to regular use. I certainly don't use this tool every day so it will be fine for my purposes. They should incorporate a system like plunge saws have where you turn a knob and it moves a cam that grips the track. A few comments about how it doesn't sit level on the track, that's what the little foot thing is for. Sit the thing on the track and the workpiece, push down on the track end to hold the router level and up off the workpiece and then set the foot so it is brushing the work piece.

First of all Makita you really do need to sort out clear and concise descriptions of how to assemble and use your equipment, while your tools are excellent your instructions are probably the worst there is. When you finally figure out how to assemble it and attach your router, you find there is no fine adjustment, you set the cut by fiddling around with sliding the router along the rods, they could have a long threaded adjuster on the sub adapter so you could set a stop when sliding the router on the rods and giving a fine adjustment by turning the adjuster a couple of turns and sliding up to it, therefore making that extra mm that needs to be removed easier to set. So no very basic and not well thought out for the price, and considering the price it's mostly all plastic too.

Took me a few practice runs to get used to it/set it up right. Used it with the Evolution track - just needed a bit of fine adjustment to get it to run smooth. Bought it to route channels for vinyl piping on some synth cabinets I'm making. Was just the job.

Easy enough to put together and fit to the rail and router although the instruction pictures are a bit vague as to how to position the router relative to the guide rail and sub plate (I have a RT0700 trim router with plunge base). It would appear that no allowance for the thickness of the guide rail has been made in its design and when assembled the router naturally sits at a slight angle to the work surface. This can be alleviated by adjusting the foot on the sub base or by a shim under it. This seems like a schoolboy error in the design of an otherwise useful accessory.

Held the router tightly and in place…using a track over length transforms the router into a super tool compared to using the regular edge guide.

Obviously works with Makita Plunge base and to my surprise also compatible with Trend 18v Brushless Plunge Router base

I have tested it, haven't really used it yet, but you can trust Makita accessories.

Hier ist aus meiner Sicht eine begeisterte Rezension angebracht! Der Adapter passt wider Erwarten trotz unüblicher Stangen (10 mm Durchmesser und 110 mm Abstand Mitte - Mitte) auch auf meine "no Name" Oberfräse (Montage dann mit den mitgelieferten 8 mm Stangen)! Obwohl die vorgesehene Verwendung auf eine symmetrische Montage der Befestigungsstangen ausgelegt ist (Abstand der 8 mm Stangen beträgt 85 mm, der 12 mm Stangen 115 mm), lassen sich die 8 mm Stangen auch in den 12 mm Aufnahmen montieren. In meinem Fall paßten aber auch diese Maße nicht richtig, doch ich konnte die mitgelieferten 8 mm Stangen sogar unter Spannung montieren! Das erweitert die Möglichkeiten erheblich! Dazu müssen die 8 mm Stangen, die in den 12 mm Aufnahmen sitzen, zuerst und in diesen ganz nach unten gedrückt montiert werden. Erst dann werden die Stangen, die in den 8 mm Aufnahmen sitzen, montiert und erst dann wird der Abstand zur Führungsschiene (also die Fräserposition) durch Verschieben der Fräse auf den Stangen eingestellt. Des Weiteren werden 2 verstellbare Auflagen mitgeliefert, um die Auslage des Adapters so zu justieren, dass die Auflage der Oberfräse parallel zur Werkstückoberfläche geführt wird. Allerdings ist zu beachten, dass u.U. ein Hilfsholz verwendet werden muß, da die Auslage des Adapters je nach Fräsergröße ziemlich weit von der Kante der Führungsschiene entfernt läuft. Ich hoffe, dass das die Verwendung nicht zu stark einschränkt! Die Führung auf der Schiene läßt sich nahezu spielfrei einstellen! Hierzu ist ein überlanger Kreuzschlitz-Schraubendreher hilfreich! Insgesamt ein tolles Teil, das auch verarbeitungsmäßig einen sehr guten Eindruck macht! Die Fotos sollten durch den eingeschriebenen Text selbsterklärend sein!

The most disappointing point about this item is that there is no information provided here about what routers - makita routers this will work with. Fortunately it worked with my oldest 1 hp router with 1/4 bits and works well but would not connect with any of my other 4 routers, including a makita 1/2 bit plunge router, dewalt 3 hp, triton 3 hp and a bosch. Works well with the Makita and Festool tracks. Don't know about any others. If you are looking for a list of routers - go to the Makita web site, track saws, tracks and track accessories image.
