I've been putting eyelets into canvas to customise covers for things, usually to make eyelets where no eyelets were. However the cheapo kits I bought were the kind where you bash a punch through the material and then use a rounded tool to spread the eyelet. 3 times out of 10, it went awry and I ended up with 'bonus' cuts in the material, or a squashed, but ineffective eyelet. Well no more!Seems a bit pricey and you need to watch the video to work out how to set the eyelets, but with the help of a bit of magnetism, I can now get perfect eyelets every time.It needs a bit of squeezing to crush and spread the eyelet, but the results are good. Used it on polythene tarps so far, nothing super heavyweight, but it that is your requirement it seems to do the job well. Feels tough and well put together.

Fantastic gadget! Having lost a few swimming pool covers due to the lovely summer weather! I’d recently bought a best way pool cover and realised it was just as useless as the others I’d bought as it didn’t have anywhere to tie any guy ropes too. Spotted this gadget and it has transformed my useless pool cover into a fully functional good pool cover that I have been able to tie down instead of it blowing away! This tool is so easy and quick to use, material didn’t rip or tear you just pop in the buttonhole and the washer onto the magnets place the material in between and squeeze the handle. All done! I would suggest that you turn the tools upside down so the washer is facing you only for ease of use as i managed to misalign 1 washer as the material moved it when I was sliding it in between, I found it easier to keep an eye on that way. Can’t fault this tool, already lined up my bbq cover for a few more grommet holes!

This is a great well made gadget. Comes with one size eyelets which can be use for many things. My partner uses for his work shoes.. unfortunately where he works they get a lot of agency workers who dont own their own work shoes for the clean area so pick up anyones shoes that are hanging around and they are never seen again. So having this he has punched holes in his shoes and padlocked them together. He cant take them home or put them in lockers so people with full time jobs tend to do this...Its reasonably easy to use when you get the hang of it and can be a bit more tricky with thicker material its going through. There are plenty of eyelets in the set to be getting on with, I dont think we will every run out of them. There is magnets in the eyelet punch to hold them in place while trying to use. This is a lot of money but if you could feel the weight of it and see how well its made then maybe this is a reasonably good deal.

only tried it on thick jumbo bag, ok on single thickness but it wouldn't work on double thickness. However very satisfied that i will be able to do what i want , which is to make some covers for my garage equipment from jumbo bags in which top soil was delivered.

Good quality for the price. I don't use them a lot but when I do they do a good job

It is quite fiddly getting the eyelets onto the tool and holding it and the fabric etc. It is also quite hard to press needs a lot of pressure my hand was hurting after a few and it didn't always cut through the fabric cleanly.

Worth it,ease of use

This jams, the grommets buckle where they're poor quality & hasn't made a single eyelet on the tarp.I am having to make a hole first so I am returning this & order a different one that actually does the job!
